LInux is great for gaming and coding, I use Arch for both of those on my daily driver. But I love music production and the experience on Linux is pretty god awful. I've got a macbook pro for that, but it looks awful on my monitor for some reason. I wish Logic Pro was on Linux so bad

linux is good. but the problem is ownership. you pull packages from repositories so you dont own your software. if the repos are down you can not acquire software. if the internet is gone during a ww3 scenario you wont be using linux. you will need a standalone offline system like windows 7 with software on dvd's/blurays to do CNC/CAD work to cnc mill self defence equipment or other necessities. linux are great but only as long as you have access to the internet!

You don't need to be connected to the internet to use software you've already installed. I believe some distros like debian allow you to download DVD images with software on it and use those like repos to install software. Failing that you could make an entire offline clone of a software repo. There's also appimages which have all dependencies self-contained much like .exe files.
