India is a bunch of slaves for a few cents. A single dollar is a hundred rupees. We could pay them 5 cents and they’ll be sucking our cocks

Is there a reason upper/middle management of most large companies moved all of their infrastructure to the "cloud" instead of having a server room and a few IT geeks in the basement?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EBfxjSFAxQ

Is it actually saving them money?

>muh "serverless"
>muh cloud

a lot of companies relied on AWS hosting being mostly available and being able to buy idle CPU cycles on the cheap
but now cuz AI its at peak utilization all the time and costs will spike up past what people are willing to pay for your goyslop entertainment horse shit
so it will keep happening, but will just to you
because they know you'll still consume product and get excited about next product

I want to know if there's a reason they went with AWS or if they're just hype chasing morons.

I can understand if a small startup went with AWS to get some proof of concept product to market, but why are banks, utility companies, insurance companies, government orgs all doing this shit? Every tech job posting is:
>6 years of AWS / Microsoft Azure experience
>salary 50k/year

Infrastructure upkeep is expensive if done right and using up to date equipment. Cloud vs on-site cost are nearly identical now. You just have to decide between outages out of your control or on-site infrastructure aka server rooms, generator backups, host, replication, backup solutions, disaster recovery, etc. I would argue for most business that do not have very sensitive data then cloud based makes more sense.
