I was rooting for Canada because the geopolitical implications of what will happen when Quebec leaves brings uncertainty. We just witnessed the death of a country. They needed something to rally around and "Win" and they just fucking died.

Nobody in Canada ever watches or talks about baseball that is until Jays in the WS and trump trade war made the match political. In the last week I've heard non-stop baseball talk everywhere around me and on the radio.

I have no love for the Liberals but Poilievre only ran his platform on "axe the carbon tax" and Trudeau bad. He was completely silent on the massive influx of jeets but took every opportunity to pose with them for photo ops. I actually believe had he won he would have let all 1.5 billion of them move right in.
When Trudeau was booted and Carney said he was removing the carbon tax at the pumps you really saw Poilievre flounder because his major talking points were now mute. Even without Trump saying he didn't like him I would have said the Liberals had a good chance of winning. A lot of Liberals were only going to vote Conservative just because Trudeau refused to go.
