there is election law which says that after a period of time (5 years) the session of parliament will end and MPs will not be MPs anymore and a new election will be called by the electoral commission, unless the PM calls an election before this. the PM would stay PM until the new election.
ultimately, the King invites someone to be PM and the King could in effect sack the PM at any point. if a PM decided to not have any more elections, the King is there to step in.
