I basically never use cash but I recognize that the option to be able to use cash is good. If stores passed the CC charge to the consumer more people would use cash so they don't have to pay the extra 3-5% similar to the DMV etc. There isn't really a reason not to use a CC though since they bake in the price of the CC into the total cost. Not using a CC is basically paying extra money for nothing.

You can see the elites slowly trying to remove cash though. At grocery store self checkouts only a couple machines accept cash now.
