Why do Pakis in Britain look much more dangerous and aggressive than their American counterparts? the Pakis in America look like 5 foot frail nerds with glasses and a STEM degree while the British ones are dangerous brute thugs.

Mirpuris come from Azad Kashmir so they are a mix of Punjabis and Pashtuns/Afghanis. they are also next to the newly constructred capital Islamabad.
Most STEM pakis in US are from Karachi (biggest city in Pakistan) which is next to India, maybe Lahore so they are more "jeety". most Pakistanis are like that, not Mirpuris. they are having a civil war over it right now.

the Raj was also centered in Karachi, Islamabad did not exist. there is essentially no "colonial" memory or connections for UK pakistanis from Mirpur, most of them probably literally came from Afghanistan if you ask where their ancestors are from. this probably creates a strange impressions in Pakistanis in Pakistan when they hear what Brits have to say about them based on the reputation they have in the UK, which is ironically how they see Afghanistanis (and Indians see Pakistanis). on top of Pakistan itself being a rather new country, although Karachi and Lahore are very old.

they are different ethnicities. UK ones are Punjabi/Pashtun, US ones tend to be Sindhi which means "Indian", although literally "from the Indus river", which is in Pakistan although Indians settled around it before Partition in 1947 into two/three/four countries (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka). it's like asking if Bangladeshis are a different ethnic group and why they have a different language if they are from (East) Pakistan.

London has that divide because it's old like most cities. Islamabad isn't hard left or anything, nobody is from there. Even Mirpuris most likely aren't from there, they are from India or Afghanistan. Azad Kashmir (Free Kashmir) isn't an ethnic designation.

Kashmiris on the other hand are likely from there because it's so old, same as Lahoris. If you ask where their great grandparents came from, many will probably say "Lahore" or "Kashmir".
