Was there ever any nation or people which had their lifes improved when they came under Russian control?
It seems everything Russia/russians touch degrades rapidly and gets ruined.
Why are they like this?

The entire Baltic was under Ottoman occupation and basically a slave empire.
The Russians freed millions of slavs from Turkish run slavery.
It wasn't until the Soviet Union (run by non-Russians) that Russia became a distopian hellhole.

They surely did lots of war against the roaches but Austria was a big part of that too and then just compare how Austrian Croatia did in development and wealth compared to shithole Serbia. Just look at German Monarch Romania and shithole part Russian Moldova.
Baltics under 1000 years of German control did very well and then Russia created wastelands when they stole it.
