The Trump admin let S. Korea buy the American nuclear submarine platform (that they can customize for their use but can't touch the nuclear propulsion part) because Japan wants it more and now will pay whatever the U.S. asks to maintain the current balance of power in the region. Let the one with less money buy a Ford Escape at a relatively lower price because that will make the one with more money panic and buy insanely marked-up Lincoln Navigator with all sorts of unneeded options. I feel like Steven Miller figured this out, not Trump.

wrong ,the only reason south korea doesnt have nuclear weapons of their own is because uncle sam and japan wont let them. They want them since 1950s

No, Trump granted Korea an exemption from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to build nuclear powered subs.

Korea is using their own nuclear sub design but they agreed not to enrich their own uranium (out of fear this will kick off a nuke arms race in Asia and further antagonize North Korea) so they will buy enriched uranium from the US.

Korea is building their own sub. They aren't buying a US platform other than the nuclear reactor as stipulated by the US to avoid a nuke race in Asia.
