MAGA is for people who are dissatisfied with respectable institutions and with "civility" itself. wahting to be the defender of respectability and civility during these times is just tone-deaf.
Democrats becoming strident institutionalists in response to MAGA is the biggest strategic political failure in recent political history that I can think of.
That doesn't mean I like MAGA.
I just think that the liberal class have no idea what timeline we're in, and the failure of the left in the West has been its inability to distinguish itself from the liberal class.
