you're literally appreciating the non brutalist aspects of it. the non-brutalism of it is what's making you go "WOW THIS IS SO COOL". it's the curves and organic-ness of the shape. you like it precisely for it's non-brutalism

Brutalism doesn't require straight lines. and hard angles and straight lines can look beautiful too like pic related

The point is... Brutalism is what YOU make of it, not what Jews tell you to think of it.

Same with post modern monumentalism like pic related

yeah brutalism has so much potential yet 99.999% of their structures are just pretentious farts by architects from a very specific ethnic background

I like pic rel from cuckraine although it was built along constructivist principles, not "wow we can make reinforced concrete gay!!!" aka brutalism

Listen, Brutalist architecture can be nice. I have some in mu county and I think it’s beautiful. However, it highly depends on the specific design. A lot of Brutalism is an abstract statue made up of a bunch of triangular and cube shapes with no overall design philosophy. What we call Brutalism I think could be split into multiple new categories. I think it’s like if we only had one word to encompass Spanish Colonial, Art Deco, and Neoclassical all in one category. Makes no sense.

something that people don't think about is how comfy brutalist buildings are to work and live in. there isn't a ton of natural light, but the materials make them extremely sturdy against the elements outside. excellent sound isolation. isothermal. lots of usable interior space because of geometric designs.

contrast this with, for example, modernism. looks nice, except all the natural light makes things fade inside, lots of glare, lots of noise transmission through the glass and steel/metal, requires aggressive heating and cooling (LEED is gay and doesn't work), not much usable interior space.

i don't like it. i think large buildings need a bunch of contrasting materials in order to look good. a single grey concrete tone with a bunch of windows showing blinds are not pleasing. yes i unironically like the modern mcdonalds architecture. i haven't seen any apartment buildings with this style though
Anonymous (ID: QukBAoHp) United States No.520628632 [Report] >>520628865

>i haven't seen any apartment buildings with this style though
because there's zero privacy, and even with really expensive windows, have fun with the sound transmission, heating, and cooling costs.

they *look* nice, but they're not livable. unless it's some midcentury modern frank lloyd wright type house or compound in the middle of nowhere and you have fuck you money.

i think it can be modified to have better privacy if you mean the windows are too big. i don't know why the utilities would be more difficult since you can have a functional interior while having the nice exterior
Anonymous (ID: QukBAoHp) United States No.520629108 [Report]
>>520628865
>i think it can be modified to have better privacy if you mean the windows are too big
then you're going to end up with your
>a bunch of windows showing blinds
and as for
>utilities
windows lose massive amounts of heat, unless they're triple-paned and properly treated, which costs $$$. they can also have reflective material in them almost like a vehicle's limo tint which does reduce the >showing blinds< part, but, again, cost. and windows transmit sound especially through where they connect with the outer walls and other structure materials.

it's just a reality of how these buildings are. trust me, I like going to modern art museums and walking through modern houses and whatnot. but on a day to day, you don't want to live in one.

it's a combined office-factory building anon, they needed as many windows as they could get, and steel hasn't been "invented" yet
I think the sizes of the buildings, symmetry, proportions are all perfect... great rhythm from the windows too
it also looks very "compact", like a toy, which is not easy to pull off (that is why many postmodern buildings look plain stupid)

>Kubistische
lol that's just postmodern slop in my eyes
seen some 1920s cubist architecture (interior) sketches, reminded me of Doom 1 levels, in a good way though
there are many options to explore
>i haven't seen any apartment buildings with this style though
i've seen tons in the netherlands, germany too, like new neighborhood developments had 10-15 of these lined up on a street
