The biggest lie is that our existence as conscious beings is somehow random or accidental. Interpret that however you want, but I've never personally met a man who believes wholeheartedly in an afterlife that needs SSRIs or anxiety meds to get them through the day. Probably the belief that what we have today is capitalism. What we have really had for many decades now is corporatism. In a capitalism system with free markets there are risks and even the too big to fail end up falling on their face only for upstarts to pick up the slack. COVID showed us that only about 5% of jobs are actually needed for the country to function and these are underpaid.
