It's because the average American man has about the same quality of life as you. Americans are really poor actually, but it's not because consumer goods are expensive, it's because we have to pay exorbitant rent, insurance, and our taxes are high considering we get nothing out of it. American suicide rate is on par with Eastern Europe's actually. Plus, we have no culture and our women are difficult to get and look like smelly fat men.

My girlfriend is from Peru. She lives there. And I have visited there. Believe me, life there is extreme easy mode as a man, and the extremely low suicide rate reflects that. Now comparing male suicide rate in Germany or Sweden to the US, they are both "1st world", but those 2 Euro countries are middle of the road in suicide rate while America is near the top with Africa and Eastern Europe and Worker-bee Asia.

I hear of so many people here not being able to afford food because they had to pay rent or pay their car insurance or whatever. This is the richest country in the world, yet a giant percentage of the country has to worry about food insecurity.

That doesn't happen in Europe. Even if it does, they still are much more community-oriented so the poorest still get informal support.
