I know nobody here reads anything, but what does /pol/ think about the great Ancient Greek philosophers? How do they continue to inspire and influence modern politics? What utility do they have for us going forward?

I think it's more important to read classical Greek medicine than philosophy
Hippocrates
Galen
Dioscorides

And then read the golden age Islamic scholars who expanded on their works, while the West plummeted into the Dark Ages (thanks Vatican Jews!)

They were in the right place at the right time to be remembered for the ideas they brought to the world.

They were the ones who destroyed the old regime and its religions. Before them, things like Orphism and Pythagoreanism were viewed with caution, but philosophers sounded profound, and in the eyes of many, sounding profound means sounding rational, giving final validity to the religions of the Axial Age (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc.).

For me it's Diogenes. Seems like Plato was lolcow and everybody was laying in to his ass but Diogenes did it best. Also he never wrote anything down because writing is for fags

Aristotle was right, Plato was wrong, rennaissance fags of course went with neoplatonic mysticism, unlucky for us and the world. Liberalism was spawned from idiotic protestantism as a result of this, eventually resulting in the leftism we know and love.
