They can already solve most multi-step complex math, physics, and programming problems at the graduate student level.
The immediate goal is to get an AI that can solve problems at the expert-researcher level. Once it can do that, you can spin up 20,000 copies of itself all working on currently unsolved problems in math, science, engineering, medicine. All working 24/7 at lightning speed.
From there, shit gets weird and unpredictable really fast.

Only time I used AI for anything remotely complicated I asked it to calculate the total effective dose equivalent absorbed by the human body from an amount of u-238 deposited into the human liver. It was off by an order of magnitude. Can't even do middle school level calculations.

I am trying to say if ai I'd suppose to be great and important what can ai do that a normal human being cannot. Until then ai is pointless. Imagine you make robots then have ai run those robots yeah you can say that great but you could probably hire a human to do the same job. If you want a robot to still do the job you could probably hire someone to control the robot. Hence theres really no special innovation or usp the ai has or could it do anything a human cannot do. Ai seems like a waste.
