there are much less US people and foreigners in general in china this year than from before COVID. there has definitely been a huge uptick in social media content and youtube content from china, but the number of americans is about 3000 including students and foreign workers, down from 10000 or so in 2019.
total white country student numbers, excluding soviets, is down greatly. workers are less.

I'm thinking about doing it now even in my advanced age of 40 year old boomer.
I have management experience in a science-related industry so I've heard at least in the past that you can do really well with something like that if you can speak Mandarin as a white American.
I think I'm gonna start learning this week.
