I think journalists are painfully aware that politically aware liberal left-wingers are genetic dead ends.
The only people having children in any significant numbers are traditional conservatives and welfare dependent blacks and latinos, and recent third world immigrants.
They're also painfully aware that if the border was ever enforced and endless welfare spending curbed, that the Democrat voting base would shrink in population size every year indefinitely.
I can see why they're panicking.
Meanwhile America's future might actually be rural Christian farmer types, just as Thomas Jefferson intended.
