When the elite realize they were tricked and the they will have to face the full repercussion of what they’ve done the horror and despair will be absolute bliss for the demons when they devour them. Demons take great joy in evil games like this.

The elite can’t hide or run, the demons know exactly where all their hidden bunkers are. Their money means nothing to them.

What do they want?
They think the world is ending soon and they are fighting for who will be in control in the aftermath.

This is pretty much it I think. They're wealth addicts. If you were as addicted to alcohol as they are to money, you'd be dead by the time you finish reading this post. I'm sure a great many of them entertain delusions that what they're doing is for some kind of greater good, but really it's just a flimsy pretense to steal more wealth and make number go up even higher.
