The 100k is only for new candidates retard. It should've been upon renewal. What killed these are AI or another indian topkek aka outsourcing. Tarriffs also did since majority jobs laid off are in transshipping but if the net loss is not that big, that means it's only shifting production locally which will yield long term.

NTA, but I don’t know a single person who has a year’s worth of income in savings anymore. The closest I came was at my last job - after four years of working constant overtime and skrimping and saving on everything I could, I had about a third of my annual salary in savings. Another year or two and I’d have been in a position to afford a down payment on a house. Instead I got laid off and in the three months it took to find a new job most of that savings had been used up. Now I’m basically back to square one.

How about just a year's worth of expenses? Fuck me, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't have a contingency plan to survive a year if I couldn't work or if there were some major disaster or societal shakeup.
