Russian Missiles in Venezuela
If Russia gives long range missiles to Venezela along with training and satellite data but doesn't press the launch button themselves, can they be held accountable for any destruction caused on US soil?

It would just be lethal aid donated to Venezuela in response to America's illegal, unprovoked, environmentally unsound invasion. Russia wouldn't be involved at all.

Why doesn't Russia impose sanctions on the US? Or is that a silly question to ask lmao? Think about why it is a silly question to ask though...it gets even more funny when you do.

They could screw the US over on stuff like fertiliser maybe. Russia is playing its dindu nothing card though rather than tit for tat against the US

Lots of countries produce fertilizer. The US is a major producer as well due to our abundance of gas. And they don't play tit for tat because they can't.

Very true. Fertiliser was literally the only thing I could think of and it's not something they produce exclusively. They different ways to try and harm the US though but certainly not by sanctions. Would be funny, as you said.

Sanctions don't work, and even if they did you'd need the rest of the world to sign up to enforce them. America can force its most loyal European vassals to participate, but that's it.

The fracking revolution completely changed geopolitics. All the recent shit with Iran would have been impossible before, same as with Russia. But the US is a net energy exporter now, which has massively reduced the leverage Russia and Iran and OPEC generally have on global affairs.

After 1 march there will be no access to foreign website in Russia.
It's not 100% confirmed, but big chance that it's real.

It's over for us. Only bots and elites, like in north korea could access global internet.

The amount of oil and gas discovered in Texas is insane and totally rebalanced things. We've got a fair bit here but obviously politicians are against it using it..
You think the US will get involved in Venezuela now that Russia is moving weapons there? Seems it's their way of hitting back following US support for Ukraine.

They're inconvenient for countries that want to engage in free trade, so obviously they would want them dropped, but the stated goal of the sanctions is to cripple the targeted country's economy in order to provoke popular unrest which is in turn supposed to result in regime change. We are on the 19th tranche, nearly one for every year NATO spent losing the war in Afghanistan. How many more sanctions before they finally work? How many more for Iran, which prior to 2022, was the most sanctioned country in the world?

>We've got a fair bit here but obviously politicians are against it using it..
UK has a lot of shale gas for sure. The main benefit the US had was federalism and the extreme autonomy Texas has over its energy policy. It's not connected to the national electric grid so it doesn't have to submit to federal bullshit. This as well as the fact that the land was privately owned meant the government couldn't stop it. The UK doesn't have that situation, so it all stays in the ground while your energy costs just keep climbing. Sad.
>You think the US will get involved in Venezuela now that Russia is moving weapons there?
No and I don't believe Russia is moving shit there. They need everything they have for Ukraine and Putin needs to suck up to Trump, not alienate him even more.

They’ve had lots of flights of their big ass military transport aircraft into Caracas. Russia has several destroyers parked in Venezuelan waters.

Theres no capability gap in american naval interceptors and Russian interceptors. This is however about ashms. The supersonic russian modern ashms are very capable, it is a pucker factor if those are fired against any naval vessel, but it is highly unlikely Venezuela will be given the volume needed to punch trough a naval fleets aa umbrella. The hypersonics however are extremely dangerous, you cant be sure you shoot it down even if its a single missile launched, however its extremely unlikely Russia will provide those to Venezuela.

I honestly don't think they're far off doing it if they haven't done so already. Either that or the planes landing there is theatre/posturing for the sake of having a bargaining chip with the US over Ukraine.
