it has been like ~20 years and i still can't use it to purchase groceries. plus i think the secret endgame of everyone is to bail out to fiat. the big banks are eventually going to do it. this shit is fucking cooked. sold all of mine. my brother has ~1M in eth and i'm hoping he sells before it's too late.

>you can't use gold to purchase a hooker, either.
you can't use stock to purchase anything. meanwhile btc/eth isn't even supported by any underlying assets. it's just air.

imagine being a business owner and accepting crypto. you are basically putting your goods and services on the stock market. so you have to convert to fiat immediately so you don't lose money.

it's also insanely complex because employers don't pay in crypto, so you have to get your check and convert it to crypto and then if you purchase something with crypto they're going to have to convert it.

crypto is literally valued in terms of fiat. this shit is all bonkers and it took me years to realize it. it's not a currency and never will be. it's just a get rich scheme that will collapse.

The purpose of ALL pyramid schemes/casinos is always the same: prevent people from ever cashing out. If you go into a casino and win one hundred million dollars worth of casino chips, how much has the casino lost? Nothing until you cash out.

You can have all the tokens and paper promises in the world, their losses and your gains don't become real until you trade them for something, anything, real that can not be conjured out of thin air: metals, farmland, a candy bar, whatever. (In the case of a casino, cash, because unlike tokens they can't conjure cash out of thin air like the fed)

The purpose is to keep you at the table gambling until you are broke.

You live in a country where access to banking and credit is so easy that BofA even hands out mortgages and credit cards to illegal aliens who don't have a verifiable identity.

That's how I usually see it used or what people plan with it. I get it was initially supposed to be its own currency and financial system, but it's definitely manipulated by people who already had a ton of money to invest into it, dump when it reaches a high point or they have some insider knowledge that will affect markets, and then rinse and repeat. I'm not saying it itself is bad, but I also think it works as some pressure release valve for people who realize the stock market is manipulated out the ass and real estate isn't the guarantee it once was (unless you have a ton of money to invest. It's not 60+ years ago anymore when you could be a janitor, invest a portion of your pay into stocks, and retire with a comfortable amount from it, like that one janny they wrote about in the 90s once people started nooticing the stock market chicanery too much).

To serve as an 'alternative' for cash money.

As soon as the crash and following inevitable reset of our monetarian system occurs, they will re-issue our current currencies as all-digital CBDCs (E-Euro, E-Dollar etc.) without reintroducing cash money.

To calm down the ones who miss paper money and are afraid of the new, dystopian and programmable counterparts, they will offer BTC and other pseudo-anonymous 'alternatives'.

This will be enough to soothe most of the cattle and guarantees a smooth und uninterrupted transfer to the new, fully regulated Orwellian dystopia they wanted to implement for ages.

But we can transfer your USD to USc at a user specific distribution rate.
Ie bezos would trade in 1 billion USD for 20$ USc
You would trade in 20$ USD and get 200,000$ USc to help with a house. A large quantity of money would be "evaporated" and we can just run the capitalism train off another cliff in 200 years.

There's several. The first is uncensorable, unconfiscable wealth that you can take anywhere. I have two of my ETH seed phrases memorized. This means if I need to flee the country I can take about $6.5 million with me in my head. That's useful.
Second, in the case of big daddy BTC, it is the purest form of money, which is uncounterfeitable rarity. There will only ever be 21 million BTC. It can't inflate. Millions of them are locked up in dead wallets.
Third, in the case of some coins, like ETH and SOL, they are not actually coins but distributed computers that you can write programs for and then upload, in the form of smart contracts. They do stuff. Mixers/anonymizers are one of these things, a program that just takes funds sent to it, mixes them up and sends them anonymously to new addresses, most of these were deployed years ago and will just run forever as long as that chain runs.
There are ones that make investments and loans, harvest yield and send to their owners, all automatically. They'll do that forever as long as they've got money.
Fourth, and this is what excites me the least but gets the banks all rock hard, you can tokenize assets because the blockchain is unforgeable. You can put the title to a painting on the blockchain and use a smart contract to sell it to someone else. The smart contract has the terms baked in, publicly, and only executes when those terms are met, all in public and on record. A whole bunch of civil law is eliminated by smart contracts.

Yes. If you have your funds sitting on an exchange, governments can order that exchange to hand them over, just like they can order a bank to hand over your bank deposits.
If you memorize the seed phrase for your wallet, you carry around the access to those funds in your head. If I had to flee this country I arrive wherever with the keys to millions of dollars in my head, and the minute I've got a bank account open I can cash out. I won't have to do this, but if you're from a shithole country that goes full commie, which seems increasingly likely in a lot of parts of the world, you'll be lucky to escape with any of any other kind of asset.

The crypto is in the ether. The keys are what you memorize. Or you can some engraved on steel and keep them in a safe deposit box in a privacy jurisdiction, but then you still run the tiny risk of a future government compelling the bank to hand them over.

It took me 7 years of working my ass off to make the money to buy BTC, ETH and SOL. I heard about a thing. Because I'm not like you, I went and learned about it, which means I understood I was looking at the opportunity of a lifetime and I was right. I then worked and risked everything, and because of that my great-grandkids won't have to work. You were too smart to see the opportunity, just like you always have and thus haven't noticed dozens of life-changing opportunities that came and went. If you were thrown 10 years back in time, would you work like a dog to make money and buy up all the BTC and ETH and later SOL you could? Of course, because in 2015 the crypto market cap was about $10 billion and today it's $3.5 trillion. You know this. I understood crypto was going to trillions back then and thus the opportunity of a lifetime was in front of me. Lots of us old /biz/raelis did and we're all retired now, and can spend our time doing whatever we want, including arguing on 4chan like the old days now and then.
I feel bad for you, because I've seen your life a dozen times growing up. My family was also a bunch of dirt poor losers who knew everything worth knowing about everything and yet somehow were poor. They too were always cursing "the system" and "bad luck" and trying to conceal their envy and resentment at "lucky" people who kept getting the "breaks" they somehow never did. They did not see opportunities because they never asked questions.

I urge you to consider as an intelligent man the likelihood that everyone is wrong but you. I pray God grants you a moment of humility while you've still got time to turn things around. Plenty more opportunities will come your way, but you are going to miss them if you don't change the way you think.

>it should ring all alarm bells if you got rich by doing nothing. this is literally not normal
I did not get rich by doing nothing. I got rich by noticing in 2013 that I would've been a multimillionaire if I'd listened to a crazy friend in 2010 instead of buying a Xbox, and going through agony over how my life could have changed if I had 3000 BTC to sell at $1000. Then I went to /biz/ to see if I was too late, and then I started googling and got in touch with my crazy (now rich) friend and asked him to explain all this shit to me
Once I understood what crypto was, I realized I was looking at a guaranteed multitrillion industry with a current market cap of like 10 billion. I then bet my then-meager life savings on BTC, and then ETH, and got an extra job and worked 60-70 hour weeks to put money into it and I did that until 2020. Through that, I got wiped out many times.
If you were thrown back to 1998 you'd be buying all the Apple stock you can, same with Amazon after the 2001 crash. Because you'd know "these are the future biggest companies in the world and they're on sale for 99.999% off right now, every dollar I put in now will be worth 1000x that in a few years"

The only thing that's guaranteed is death, and poverty if you don't take risks. Risk is what determines the rate of interest on a loan, or life insurance payments. Without perfect knowledge of the future there is risk. If you want to make money, or do anything at a high level, you have to take risks.

Crypto does that. Smart contracts are going to change everything. They are not fantasy memecoins but a distributed supercomputer that can be programmed, and generate revenue on every execution and transaction. This is what I realized in 2013. I was right.

I've cashed out millions. Wish I'd put more into my boomer stocks
>i can ask you about specific niche knowledge about math and programming too that you dont know it
Yes, and I'd say "that sounds interesting, tell me more about that"
If there were people getting fantastically rich in that niche form of math and programming I would try to find out lots more about it.
I wouldn't say that the niche mathematics and programming which I know nothing about is a scam and everyone getting rich from it was just lucky
>you have zero idea about super computers, programming, smart contracts or anything
I actually do, especially about the last part which I investded every dollar I have into which made me very rich. It meant that when Defi Summer arrived in 2020 I could read contracts and made an embarrassing amount of money farming yam and SUSHI. My favorite was a smart contract that scanned liquidity pools, found the two with highest yield, deposited funds into them, earned interest, then withdrew the interest and used it to buy its own token, boosting the value. As long as it had gwei and liquidity farming was a thing, it would just produce revenue by providing liquidity, forever. It might still be going!
https://www.weforum.org/stories/2025/08/tokenization-assets-transform-future-of-finance/
Smart contracts, and tokenization of assets, will be a 10-40 trillion dollar industry. Right now it's about $1.5

I worked very hard and then multiplied my savings many times by correctly identifying the opportunity of a lifetime. Lots of the generation before me did that with the internet and Apple, the generation before that could've bought Wal-Mart.
There's always opportunities. The only people who don't get them are people who hear about something new and say "that's clearly a scam" or "that's a waste of time" and thus have to spend life watching everyone else get "lucky" but them
You can change this, and I genuinely hope you do. Just add "... but maybe I'll spend 3 minutes and see what's up" the next time you hear about an obvious scam, waste of time, or stupid idea.

Theyll do that too, but it will be too obvious and people will go to BTC where the jews are waiting in ambush

Do you know what the ambush is?
BTC is ruled by miners, mining pools already had more than 50% hashrate, and developers. That Greg nullc is 110% CIA glownigger glowing brighter than Plutonium. Luke dash is also in glowie hands. Remember blocksize wars? They also own all the forums and ofcs social media ie plebbit
BTC will simply suddenly just like Fiat, when everyone is using it they print it, same with BTC, all those "escaping fiat" will one day be just oook we re mining 50btc per block again its consensus decision, mining hashrate blahblahblah fuck you and your coins goyim

Every currency does this inflate away, every single one, and btc will too, since the same greeedy faggot jews control it

crypto destroys national currency. Every cent spent on it is money which has been destroyed. Like taking a dollar and setting it on fire.
Like you say, you still can't use it for anything. You can't buy anything with it, aside from illegal things or in markets where the seller and buyer want to remain anonymous from tax agencies, debt collectors, or other prying eyes.
The proof is right out in the open.
Even considering the possibility of somehow making it work, there isn't a single pathway forward due to energy and other resource constraints.
Even if used as a framework for something better and more energy efficient, it's all backwards and will lead the world to normalized crime and global war.
