The simulation hypothesis solves no problems. As a reality it's real. It's not like this world doesn't exist. We're living in it. And we have no reason to think the reality that spawned this one is any less of a simulation. It could be simulations all the way down.
Furthermore, far from denying meaning to this reality, it suggests that this reality has a purpose, the purpose designed for by the beings who created this simulation. It also doesn't solve the problem of meaning since we don't know what that purpose is.
