Housing is a losing issue. Any solution is a losing solution. Home owners don't want to see their values go down, yet still want buyers who can afford their homes. People who want to buy aren't able to get in, so they push for more building to bring values down. It's a zero sum game. A 50 year mortgage is retarded and will continue blasting housing prices sky high but if it can keep the monthly payments down that may be all that matters
