First of all , no fences in proximity of woods. One boar can fuck up an entire farm in a night. One fox/polecat / badger can kill dozens of chickens in a night. You need fences to keep livestock in ,and vermin out.
Second, you need a whole lot of land for farming. And you definitely need heavy tractors to do so. Even though Gramps plowed with his horse, he worked three days to do what a tractor does in an hour.
Also, without pesticides and herbicides you need to dig the weeds by hand. Same with gathering the crops. To grow and process one hectare of corn it was needed an entire summer and autumn. Not all the days consecutively, but more than half of them .
