Marriage is great- I can legitimately say am the real fights we've had were my fault because I was going through some shit age returning home from deployments and using alcohol to cope. Now that I'm over that phase we haven't had a real fight in 7 or 8 years.
We've had disagreements, I've upset her and she does things occasionally that annoy me. But nothing more than a normal spat you'd have with anyone else you spend that amount of time with.

I know a ton of happy married people younger than that. In every case the husband is employed and responsible and the wife takes care of the kids and cleaning, even if that means dropping them off at school or daycare or hiring a maid or whatever. This is not uncommon at all. Church seems to help too, although most husbands I know just go to shut the wife up.
