Was grunge and Nirvana subversive? Who was really behind the grunge explosion? I already know Britpop was being pushed by MI6.

Kurt Cobain was extremely leftist and promoted feminists/LGBTQ in the 90s, he was subversive as fuck

David Geffen (a gay jew) promoted him and also signed bands like Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer etc so theres that

grunge is also 30 years out of date instead of 50, but that's what it was in 1995. you're the one making a thread about Nirvana like Cobain hasn't been dead longer than most posters have been alive

I was alive back then, No one gave a shit about who was “better” because everybody was too busy trying to get fucked up. If it sounded good you listened to it and didn’t give a fuck what other people thought because you liked it.
>t. One of the few Gen-X who didn’t OD in ‘99

Grunge because its sound and image was more spacious since it came from America. Britpop may have been musically sophisticated but it was very tight and cliquey. Grunge has stuck around longer with millenials and now even zoomers because of that.

I honestly never heard nirvana until it played on the radio a few days ago and it sounds like shit

If it was, it took middle class white people to buy in. I think it's just rubbish. Suburban alienation my arse

>argh I live in a small town with manufacturing jobs and community and I'm going CRAZY

Britpop was more fun but there was a lot of crap. All of it hit the reset button on rock music to 1963, esp. Oasis. I mainly listened to techno

Yes the genre was created by dysfunctional degenerates with mental disorders. Kurt Cobain had ADHD (diagnosed), Layne Stayley was thought this have Asperger's/Autism.

Most of the music in grunge is about angst, melancholy, feeling left behind, feeling out of place, abusing drugs, losing sanity and hating your own parents.
