Once I heard that us Healthcare made record profits last year (30+ billion) and still would have made 5+ billion if they paid every claim, I took this guy's side. Insurance is fundamentally a scam. If you are working for an insurance company, you are complicit in the evil. If every single worker quit their insurance jobs tomorrow, the entire corrupt sub-market would crumble. And CEOs are even worse because they are getting disproportionately wealthy from said scam. Health insurance is quite literally a company betting that you won't get sick, and then when you do, jumping through bureaucratic hoops to avoid paying for the care you need. It also artifically inflates healthcare prices because of all the unnecessary moving parts of that bureaucratic system.

The entire healthcare system is fucking cooked. This recent video I saw, the girl says she had to get a mri or xray, and the hospital literally would not let her pay for it without insurance, but with insurance it cost way more than paying cash at a third party facility. This is whats wrong w\ everything.

Insurance in most cases is a total scam. There simply doesn't need to be a person standing between you and a service provider to determine how much you pay. They need to have a set price list that's not total ass rape, and that will fix a lot of things.

You also can't have united healthcare being both the insurance company and the doctors office which apparently happens in some cases and they are "negotiating" prices with themselves. These people should not be a trillions of dollars per year industry. ALL OF THAT MONEY could pay for ALL OF THE HEALTHCARE multiple times over.
It's not even good healthcare. My dad "died from cancer" but in reality, he got fucking shuffled into some insane medical system where they caused him to suffer in his last year of life, and he died from poisoning from chemo. Cancer didn't kill him... the treatment did. And it was costly.
