The Lottery Is the Hope of the Damned.
The lottery ticket is the portfolio of the mediocre.
A truly successful person - one who'd studied with total diligence and worked with extreme focus - would not need, nor purchase, such a thing. That person's success is guaranteed, and their portfolio contains example after example of said-success, to present to others accordingly.
The unsuccessful person, devoid of such diligence and focus, instead chooses to pin their hopes and dreams on this. The lottery ticket. They rely on pure chance to somehow help extricate themselves from the utter mediocrity they've wallowed in for years. Decades, even. All their "eggs are in one basket," so to speak, because they lack the courage to take an idea, work hard and run with it.
Gonna win the $50M Powerball, tonight. I just know it.

Lottery, shitcoin gambling, etc. is infinitely more logical than going to work every day as a wagie when you know, via the same mathematics, that your chances of ever living that successful life are 0. At least with the lottery, except when it's rigged to pay Epstein, you have a chance >0 to win, however tiny.

That's actually incorrect. When a large jackpot pops up, they do purchase a few tickets, because a highly improbably chance is better than zero chance. The expenditure is meaningless to them too.

Don't listen to any cunt here who tells you to invest in anything. Sort your finances, living situation and personal well-being out first, and then do your own research.
Again, don't tell anyone!

I know a lot of pretty well off people who once in a blue moon buy a few tickets when the jackpot gets really big. 20 bucks doesn't go far these days and isn't much to people well into 6 figure salaries but even being comfortably well off and having a nice home and disposable income to buy things like boats ans fancy new tech hundreds of millions is still life changing amounts of money so every once in a while the office buying a round of tickets or crossing your fingers with the family knowing full well how unlikely it is but flirting with the idea anyway is just kinda fun. The sort of people who play religiously to have something to cling onto and especially the sort who piss what little they have down the drain on false hope buying a bunch of scratch offs every payday or one or two every day as a ritual, especially the ones who are then using their gibmedats check and SNAP benefits they aren't allowed to spend on things like that to cover their actual necessities, are an entierly different beast and are very sad and pathetic to the point of being contempable.

A lesson on expectancy and Kelly criterion should disabuse most thinking gentlemen reading from going to casinos anymore. You really cannot beat negative expectancy in the long run.
World's most honest slot machine would be something with a basic Windows 95 looking interface:
+Top box would say "-$0.0133.../$1" meaning 1.33... cents per dollar bet expectancy (against the player).
+Next box down would be your balance.
+Third box would be bet amount.
+Next box after would be your desired win reward.*
+Below that, a slider representing desired odds of win.*
*(These are, thanks to the fixed expectancy value, ganged inversely to each other.)
+Then, an 8 digit number will be displayed below the slider (looks like an odometer); This number is the 'strike' number.
+Below the strike number, a set of 8 blank spots for numbers where the 'roll' result goes.
+Finally, a big fat roll button.
Player puts in a bank amount, inputs his bet size, and sets either his reward or odds of win, which are inversely related in order to maintain the house edge. The strike is the number the CSPRNG derived value must equal or exceed, and goes up and down inversely with odds of win. The player hits roll, a value from the RNG is instantly pulled, checked, and displayed, and the win or loss occurs with no bells or whistles... no 'cummies' for me please.
