Japanese wrestling doesn't really do promos. It's match based.
The most watched Japanese wrestling is New Japan. New Japan has English commentary on every show including a translator. You can also watch all the promos with subtitles with the rest of the subtitled backstage interviews.
So no, no one's pretending to understand what anyone's saying.

There's a lot you can pick up on through body language, facial expressions, etc. even if you don't understand every word, especially if you are already familiar with the characters and major storylines. Also, a lot of wrestling terminology is adopted from English in the first place and is pronounced only slightly differently. It's really not THAT hard unless you are a retard like OP obviously is.
