Goofy NXT shit didn't always translate. Plus EVERYTHING except for Mojo Rawley and The Ascension were over in NXT.

it's a smark gimmick based around them hating delusional babyfaces, why would it work on a roster that was still promoting cena as the top guy?

I don't feel like they committed enough to Bo. The reason it worked so well in NXT is because he did have a legitimacy behind him being NXT champion. That let him being an absolute goof work. Think like Kurt Angle oddly enough. On the main roster he was booked like a jobber so the gimmick only cemented that idea of him even more

The Acsension were mega over in NXT. I know because I was at the taping back then when it went from a group of hot topic goths down to just a Viktor and Konnor. When it got reduced to a tag team they were getting over as fuck.
