Contrary to what smarks say he was a very exciting powerhouse wrestler. And he invented the spear. The spear is a common move now but he was the only one who had done it till that point. He did a bunch of cool moves and slams. Goldberg got the streak over by being so charismatic and exciting to watch. People were popping huge for him when he was squashing jobbers and the streak was barely a thing. He was just an exciting wrestler and he looked like a bad ass
