If he's so great, then how come he has zero classic/famous calls outside of WWE?
Same thing with Schiavone, I've heard people say he had good calls in WCW, but nothing outside of that
Where's all the 'classic' GayEW calls from them? Haven't heard of a single one, kek

What is Schiavone's best call? The only thing that comes to mind is "THATS NOT CICLOPE"

Because the calls weren't what was great, the action was and he just got credit for talking "Bah Gawd" shit over it
That's the entire point. Look at all of Ross's famous calls, all of them were from hot/semi-hot WWE periods: The Attitude era and the Ruthless aggression era. Anyone could have had a 'classic call' then
Even Michael Cole had what many consider a classic call back then, when Foley won the WWE title. Was that because Cole was good? Hell no, he was green as hell back then. It was because it was a moment involving Foley, Rock, Austin, Vince and a really hot crowd, and he was the one talking over it
Same thing with Schiavone, he made calls during the nWo era when WCW was beating WWE, so now people retroactively think he was so good
The calls weren't what was over, the moments were

Schiavone is over with me because he calls every match like he doesn't want to be there.

That's because he doesn't really like wrestling, he was completely done with it until Tony Khan offered him a ton of money to come back.

Imagine you've got JR announcing the Mona Lisa.
>"Ladies and gentlemen, before you, in this very room, you are invited to bear witness to one of the single greatest paintings ever made, renowned for its mathematical precision, artistic vision, and the complex suggestions of implications that don't find concrete answers the first time you look at it"
Now imagine him calling a match in AEW
>"And there... oh well that happened. What the f- so uh yeah he just flipped 7 times over the top rope into the opponent from Mexico, who just now jumps up like nothing happened, ladies and gentlemen I don't know why this man risked his life 7 times for no gain or purpose and oh there he goes again... for fuck's sake I mean wow if at first you don't succeed, fail again... This is quite something"
>YEAH THEY DIDN'T PUT THIS KIND OF SHOW UP IN YOUR DAY HUH TOUPAAAAAAY SUEASEEDAAAAAAAAWG
>"Yes Excalibur they didn't... not when they tried to make money."

That's why he has zero classic famous calls outside the WWE.
Add to this as well that people know and love his classic calls because they saw those calls in the Attitude Era.
They didn't watch him call Mid-South or WCW, did they.

There's nothing worthwhile to call in AEW. 10,000 manufactured "scrappy underdog does better than everyone thought" matches but not a single one worth the emotion behind "CLIMB THAT LADDER KID."

His commentary elevated the show, you retard. Try to imagine Cole’s “oh my” and “vintage” calls during the Attitude Era.

early wcw had a very different presentational style, listen to guys like bob caudle, gordon solie, lance russel etc. they let the action speak for itself, spoke like sports commentators, and they never made it about themselves. jr was working in that mold. wwe required everyone, include the announcers, to be a character, and was more focused on the moments, be it taker throwing mankind off the cell, austin stunning vince or whatever.

as for aew, it fucking sucks and jr knows it, he never really gave a shit.
