I absolutely hate this. When Trick Williams beat Joe Hendry for the TNA title, it was treated as a major shock, and Trick's entire story now has been about TNA. I can't stand how in AEW they're always carrying around some belt from Idaho Championship Wrestling or whatever. I get they're trying to elevate it, but all it does is make the AEW belts seem worthless.

They're not trying to elevate the other belts though. Tony just thinks anyone carrying a belt is automatically more over and seems more legit. It doesn't matter if fans can't name 90% of the belts Mercedes is carrying around, he just thinks it looks cool to see someone carrying a bunch of belts. He just wants to recreate that one photo of Ultimo Dragon with his favorite toys.
