So what should a good weekly wrestling show actually look like in current year?
Anonymous No.18063641 >>18063731 >>18063752 >>18064150
90 minutes
Tuesday or Thursday night
Small arenas in a regional home base area.
Not always emanating from the same building but not a coast to coast major touring operation
Shows are mostly matches (ie not WWE's entrance spam)
Not a lot of long promo segments (ie no gratuitous MJF shit)
Non-main event matches rarely go past 10 minutes
Main events always the biggest match on the card unless you're opening with a title match or something that'll end in a fuck finish and the fallout can build throughout the show
Only male wrestlers, but include female characters.
No more than 30 guys on the entire roster, and several of those are featured very occasionally or rarely.
Realistic personality based characters, like AEW Ricochet, not occupational gimmicks or generic blandness
Overtly political references made by various characters in accordance with their gimmick referencing the outside world in at least the current decade if not the current year
Let the views roll in

OP said "good" weekly wrestling show
It is actually impossible to sit down and watch WWE's weekly shows in full unless you have a dilapidated brain

Give me
>One 2-hour flagship show, one 1-hour supplemental show
>Heavy plot building through promos, backstage segments, vignettes, etc
>Matches primarily used as tools to progress stories instead of being pointless heatless bangers
>One world title, one midcard title, one set of tag belts on both the men's and women's side
>Occasional big blow-off match on tv otherwise everything's geared towards building up the ppv

2 hour show
WHC and WC belts
IC belt
Tag Team belts
Womens belt.
No more than 2 womens matches a show, should be 1 90% of the time.
Roster should be maybe 60 people, 40-45 men and 10-15 women
Women should be attractive again, get rid of the manfaces and trannies.
Need a few women like Lita or Rhea to appeal to the alt audience.
Women can get more TV time by being managers or valets.
Plots to build to PPVs/PLEs like Samoa Joe vs Angle in TNA, make people really invested and have to pay to see them fight.
Clear babyfaces and heels.
Less stupid gimmicks, should be maximum 3 people. Everyone else should be a serious character.
Main event minimum 20 minutes unless it’s a plot-advancing squash.
Unscripted promos.
Maximum 1 false finish for non-main eventers.
Shorter entrances.
Rare run-ins.

recipe for the most kino wrestling show
>2 hours
>lots of pretapes
>every wrestlers character can be summed up in a single sentence
>touring to various small venues
>1 world title, 1 midcard title, 1 women's title, 1 tag title
>lots of non title stories and unique gimmick matches tied to the stories
>top of the card is serious, but most of the tone is lighthearted
>absolutely no worked shoots or kayfabe breaking
>effort put in to making it feel like an interconnected world instead of various separate divisions with no crossover

Live shows. Nothing on tv is good imo.

Also, storylines should advance fairly regularly on TV and not always be backtacked to the status quo.
