HCTP/SYM. Only boomers with nostalgia goggles still hold onto No Mercy as the best. It's the same as GTA 3: they made phenomenal strides at the time, but they've aged like dogshit because they were the foundation of games that came later.

HCTP is great, as is Shut Your Mouth and even Just Bring It isn’t bad.
But No Mercy was the originator and still the best at branching storylines (AEW failed miserably at trying, as has every 2K game)

No Mercy has soul and mechanics that no future game had. Here Comes The Pain has a better roster and has funny over the top cartoony moments, but at the end of the day it's just button mashing.
