Just went digging back and the interview where he mentioned it was actually from the start of May 2024 where he said he has a year and a half left. Not sure of the exact dates and how much he's ballparking things but going purely off of a year and a half from then that'd put him at November of this year. Would be a hell of a finale for the Cena retirement tour

Oh even if Edge is able to get back in time to do something with Cena I don't see him being his last opponent. I would think and hope it'll be someone they can run with into the future. FTR turned on Edge at Dynasty and he's been out since. Not sure if he had filming to deal with since he has that Disney show he's on. For once he isn't hurt though which is good. They clearly set the pieces up for him to reunite with Christian but word going around, which take that with as much stock or not as you want because fuck dirtsheets, is that Christian is dragging his heels on it because he wants to do other creative first.
