I'm probably answering my own question here, but is Mexico just so fucking poor that they just don't draw the kind of money? I can't believe some Anniversario show wouldn't have been higher than that.

It really does show how pissant all non-WWE wrestling is that a failing, subpar AEW with literally no mainstream appeal can still somehow surpass everything else with ease in so many different metrics. Like how they outdrew all of TNA with their first ever show.
These are completely pathetic numbers and still better than what everyone else has done outside of WWE. Not only is AEW a failure, but it is living proof that the entire "wrestling" business outside of WWE should not even exist because it's unjustifiable culturally and financially.

>that's called a monopoly and it's supposed to be illegal

Depends on the details as sports leagues and entertainment companies compete with each other.

>Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., stated that neither baseball games nor the "personal effort" of players fell under the definition of commerce, and therefore, the business of baseball was not subject to the Sherman Antitrust Act. Baseball, even at the professional level, was recreation and entertainment. It was only a game. Despite numerous legal challenges over the years, the ruling still stands.
