this but also Channel 4 had most WWF PPVs from early 2000 to end of 2001.
pic related is highly nostalgic, the ident used before a PPV was shown.

I didn't even know that WCW existed until around the time Nitro started. Grew up with five channel basic cable, we only had Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC, WWF Superstars ran on syndication through our local Fox affiliate Saturday mornings, and sometimes you'd get to rent a video or borrow a recorded PPV, but it was all WWF and all I ever knew of wrestling. My family got our first cable box as an Easter gift in 1994 and we finally stumbled across a WCW Saturday Night episode. Seeing guys like Hogan and Macho was crazy because we didn't even know they weren't in WWF anymore, let alone wrestling for someone else. And too young to process that there could be anything else. By that point they were advertising the first Nitro was coming up and we made sure to tune in for that and then became channel flippers through the whole Monday Night Wars.

When I was a kid, my area didn't have UPN, so the only way I could keep up with Smackdown was by watching recap shows like Heat.

Also, Velocity had a big reputation with smarks/indie fans in the 2000s because this was when Heyman was booking the Smackdown brand, so Velocity actually had a lot of great matches (usually in front of dead crowds). Plus the Smackdown roster's midcard was stacked with great wrestlers, and they'd bring in indie guys like Bryan Danielson for tryout matches.

I guess it's possible. I couldn't watch Smackdown because UPN wasn't on our cable but Raw recapped anything important.
Heat was just the way to watch undercard matches. In a time when wrestling was hot, it was worthwhile.

I watched heat because I was really into wrestling in 1999/2000 as a little kid and couldn't get enough of it even if the show was a bit boring.
The only episodes I loved were when there was a PPV, it felt like I was watching the PPV for a bit before going online to WWF.com and getting results of the matches from people who actually were watching.

Essa Ríos, Gangrel, D'lo, Crash Holly got a lot of time on those shows. The WWF Lightheavyweight Division lived exclusively on those shows.

It was on USA. This was my ppvs during 98 and 99. Wish my parents loved wrestling or would let me watch the ppvs. I watched all raws smackdowns and heat but only saw like two ppvs and halftime heat live. So the heats before ppvs that hour was my ppv. It was based.

This show started out really kino. I think the first episodes were filmed inside a nightclub and actually had stars wrestling fans cared about. But, like all WWF B-shows at the time, they eventually kill the unique gimmick it has and turn it into a recap clip show with a few pre-recorded dark matches between jobbers nobody cares about filmed before RAW.
