>At Pro Wrestling Evolution’s July 5 show in Shinjuku, “Baka Survivor” Aoki Shinya (42) made his debut in a wild brawl against the “Rampaging President” Suwama (48).

>Aoki confronted Suwama in the ring for the first time and started playing mind games before the bell even rang—offering a handshake to throw him off. Suwama refused, but after the bell, Aoki persisted, once again trying to shake hands and clearly irritating his opponent. When Suwama finally grabbed his hand, they locked up, and Aoki transitioned into a half nelson and looked for the Eio-kicrutch, but couldn’t quite keep Suwama’s shoulders down.

>Even after forcing Suwama's shoulders to the mat, Aoki failed to score the pin. He kept pressing the action on the ground, but grew frustrated with Suwama’s resilience and stomped on his face.

>That lit a fire under Suwama, who launched into a fierce counterattack. He hurled Aoki out of the ring and followed up with chair shots. Aoki fought back, and chaos erupted in the crowd. At one point, Aoki borrowed ChiChi merchandise from a foreign fan and used it as a weapon, while a furious Suwama roared back, even punching second Shuji Ishikawa, drawing screams from the audience.

>Back in the ring, they exchanged elbows until Aoki was brought to his knees, then endured a sleeper hold and a lariat in a brutal sequence. Aoki countered with an armbar, wrist lock, and grounded elbows from mount, but time ran out at the 15-minute mark, ending the match in a draw.

>Even after the bell, the chaos continued as Aoki and Suwama kept scrapping, with Ishikawa and Tamura Dan rushing in to break it up.

>Backstage, Aoki rasped, “Let me grade him. That’s all Suwama’s got?” He added, “Damn, that kamaboko bastard… I’m outta breath.”

>Asked about his first impression of Suwama, Aoki shot back, “He breathes way too loud! Got me speeding up just to keep pace. Why didn’t the Eio-kicrutch land? Probably because of that gut—what even *is* that belly!?”

>Then, out of nowhere, he muttered, “Anyway, what happened to Onizuka? What’s going on there?” and left the comment area without elaborating.

long Kyohei Wada interview about a promise he once made to Misawa to ref a match in his new promotion

>"Mr. All Japan" Kyōhei Wada Referee's Final Dream: To the Ring of His Promise with Mitsuharu Misawa

>July 7 is Tanabata. On this day in 1982, Giant Baba and his wife Motoko announced their marriage.
>“Announcing a marriage on Tanabata—how romantic,” young female fans said at the time, their eyes sparkling.

>Wada Kyohei, known as “Mr. All Japan,” who served for years as a close aide to the Baba couple and was with them until the end, now holds onto one final dream: to fulfill the promise he made to Mitsuharu Misawa.

>Wada began as a ring staff member with All Japan Pro Wrestling at its founding in 1972,
>and from 1974, stepped into the ring as a referee.
>Together with Masanobu Fuchi, he stands as a living witness to the history of AJPW.

>He’s the man who protected “All Japan” through it all—even as close allies left for promotions like SWS, NOAH, and WRESTLE-1.
>Despite being All Japan through and through, he now says, “I want to become an official NOAH referee, just once, and officiate on their ring.”
>A surprising statement, to say the least.

> Tanaka Masato (52) of the newly reformed ZERO1 has declared war on the revived Hayabusa.

> Hayabusa, who made his return at the “Lucha Fest Special” held at Ryogoku on April 27, officially joined ZERO1 on the 7th. During the signing press conference held at a dojo in Tokyo, Hayabusa, seated next to Tanaka, commented, “The truth I saw with my own eyes is that ZERO1 is in decline. This year’s Fire Festival had empty seats and weak crowd reactions. When did ZERO1 become such a quiet promotion?” pointing out the organization’s current state.

> He continued, “Isn’t the wrestling you all have done so far what led to this reality?” and “What value is there in a ZERO1 that no one is watching?” Tanaka, angered by this, snapped, “Don’t get cocky just because you won the Fire Festival once!” and stormed out of the press conference.

Anonymous No.18178964 [Report] >>18180993

> Speaking to the media afterward, Tanaka said, “Compared to the early days of ZERO1, I know things have gotten tough, so I get what Hayabusa is trying to say… But I didn’t want to hear the word ‘decline.’ A signing press conference should have been a happy occasion for ZERO1, and honestly, I wanted it to end that way. I don’t think that was the time or place to say those things,” revealing his feelings.

> Tanaka joined ZERO1 in 2002, which was founded by the late Hashimoto Shinya. After Hashimoto’s passing, he and Otani Shinjiro worked to support the promotion. This February, ZERO1 was relaunched, and Tanaka has taken the lead as the wrestlers’ representative, attempting to drive change while leading the organization.

> This is why Hayabusa’s remarks have lit a fire in him. “I’m curious to see how Hayabusa and the younger generation will change things. The promotion needs that. But thanks to Hayabusa, I’m even more fired up now, and I don’t plan on being taken down so easily. Right now, if you ask who’s in ZERO1, it’s Otani, who’s out injured, and me. The younger guys need to surpass our names. But I think the name ‘Tanaka’ is bigger than they imagine. If they think they can change it easily, they should try.”

> The center of ZERO1 will not be handed over so easily.

>NOAH’s Kenoh (40) took aim at GHC Heavyweight Champion OZAWA (28), criticizing him for being “disappointing” and ripping into him ahead of their title match on the 19th at Korakuen Hall. With his usual stubborn fire in full effect, Kenoh launched a fierce rebuttal after OZAWA accused him of being a “craving-approval old man.” In fact, Kenoh insisted, it’s OZAWA who’s obsessed with validation—and he vowed to deliver a harsh lesson in the ring.

>Kenoh’s barbs only sharpened as the GHC title match drew near. “The other day, he said he was gunning for the ‘Sontaku Taisho MVP,’ and I just thought, man… what a letdown.”

>Kenoh uses “Sontaku Taisho” (“Pandering Awards”) to refer to the Pro Wrestling Awards. He was disappointed when OZAWA showed interest in the MVP award, saying things like, “It’s like the Pro Wrestling Pandering Awards. I guess I’m getting one step closer to that MVP.”

>“When I hear that, I’m like—so he thinks just like every other average wrestler? That’s a huge letdown. I wanted him to exist on a whole different level,” Kenoh explained. “I think the fans are disappointed too. And if that’s the case, I guess I’m the one who’s gotta teach him a lesson. I already taught him how to sell tickets, after all.”

>As if to double down on his prickly persona, Kenoh smirked at being called a “craving-approval old man.” A popular YouTuber with nearly 90,000 subscribers, he shot back: “There’s no wrestler with less need for approval than me. If anything, I’ve been fighting from a place of *not* wanting to be acknowledged. He’s got no clue how to read people. That’s disappointing too.” He shook his head theatrically.
Anonymous No.18186698 [Report]
>>18186687
>Kenoh also mocked OZAWA’s recent announcement of launching his own official YouTube channel: “Lately, OZAWA’s the one oozing with approval-seeking. ‘I want recognition from the fans,’ ‘from the company,’ ‘from society,’ ‘from the media’—isn’t that his whole mindset now?” Then, with a swipe of sarcasm, he added: “To think he’s turned into someone who just wants everyone to think he’s great… I’m disappointed…”

>Reflecting on OZAWA’s past, Kenoh added, “Back when he was being sidelined before his trip to the UK, he had real fire in him. I need to help him remember that feeling.”

>As part of his post-title-match “OZAWA Rehabilitation Plan,” Kenoh went even further: “Go to America and start over as the assistant to your least favorite person, Inamura Atsuki. And hey, if Inamura becomes NXT Champion, he’ll need an assistant anyway.”

>The showdown at NOAH’s 25th Anniversary show is sure to be explosive.

>[Regarding the Disciplinary Action and Retirement of Issei Onitsuka]

>We sincerely thank you for your continued support of GLEAT.

>It has been confirmed that Issei Onitsuka has committed a breach of contract.

>In order to maintain order within the organization, we have decided to impose the following sanctions within the bounds of his contract: a one-year suspension from all in-ring activities, payment of damages to the company in the form of a penalty fee, forfeiture of the G-INFINITY and G-RUSH titles he currently holds, and removal from his position as Chairman of the GLEAT Official Fan Club “Team G.”

>While Onitsuka has accepted these terms, he subsequently informed us of his decision to retire from wrestling. Taking his wishes and future into consideration, we have chosen to respect his decision and accept his departure from the company.

>We therefore announce that, as of today, Issei Onitsuka is officially retired from active competition.

>However, he will still be required to pay the aforementioned penalty fee.

>Details regarding the future of the G-INFINITY and G-RUSH titles, as well as the Team G chairman role, will be announced once decided.

>We deeply apologize to all fans for any concern this may cause.

>This contractual breach is not being treated as a criminal matter.

>At this time, neither the company nor the individuals involved will be making any further statements. We also ask that you refrain from spreading speculation or misinformation.

Rumor is he was trying to sign with another company, and it's a strict rule in Japan not to have conversations while under contract with another promotion. When Dragon Gate's Big R Shimizu got caught talking to GLEAT last year, he got suspended indefinitely and GLEAT's ownership had to come out and say they would never pursue a talent like that again. Shimizu had to vacate his tag belt and still hasn't wrestled to this day.

he's pretty consistent with his muscle training over the years. imo he had the best improvement both in look and muscle growth, if you look at his photos is very noticeable.

when his back hit the apron i also was worried for a minute lol but the match was pretty quick, i remember his last ko-d match vs ueno lasted longer, but i guess his stamina might not be as good as it was a year ago. still really really good match for both of them.
next challenger is akiyama,

btw they released more cards for wrestle peter pan,
suzuki minuro vs mao for the universal belt for the second day. personally not feeling this one, mao got a bit boring after he came back from bosj (and playing babysitter for that guy doesn't help), don't think suzuki will keep the title for much longer but who knows, a lot of people thought that aoki was the one getting back the belt from his hands.

After their tag match at Dragongate, Hiroshi Tanahashi cut a promo, saying that he was really impressed with Yuki's work and his Frog Splash... and gave him permission to call it "High Fly Flow" from now on.

Tanahashi's reasoning is due to him and Yoshioka both coming from Gifu Prefecture, as well as going to the same school. Tana also said that he hopes Yoshioka will gift the High Fly Flow to a future wrestler some day, hopefully also from Gifu

>Former NJPW stars Tetsuya Naito (43) and BUSHI (42) announced their plans for the future of "Los Tranquilos de Japon (LTJ)" on the 13th. The duo will make their freelance debut at RPW’s Wolverhampton show in the UK on the 25th (26th Japan time), and they plan to tour across the American wrestling scene throughout August and September. They’ve also nearly completed a brand-new entrance theme—marking a bold new chapter for the two.

>Naito and BUSHI hosted a talk show in Fukuoka that day, where they interacted with around 400 fans. Afterward, when a press interview was requested, it was no surprise they called for an impromptu meeting at a family restaurant.

>"Being able to return to Fukuoka, where I had my final match as a contracted wrestler (on May 4), and to feel firsthand that people were waiting for me—it made me genuinely happy," said Naito, savoring a hamburger steak. BUSHI, still wearing his mask inside the restaurant, added while eating a melon parfait, "The applause and cheers are still ringing in my ears. I’d love to hear those cheers again—not just at talk shows, but in the ring."

>LTJ’s debut will take place in the UK with RPW. According to Naito, they’re also scheduled for another match in the UK, followed by appearances in multiple promotions across the U.S. from August through September.

>Despite his immense popularity, Naito currently has no domestic matches lined up. Why the international focus? "I want to visit places where I haven’t had the chance to show what Tetsuya Naito can do," he explained. "That will help me figure out my future. Right now, I’m not considering any domestic promotions. If I get an offer, I’ll think about it. And maybe once I’ve had a few matches, if the desire comes back, I might end up wrestling for a Japanese promotion again later this year."

>At the time of his departure, Naito spoke emotionally about discovering fans in Costa Rica—where he wrestled for the first time in 2019—and how that influenced his decision to prioritize things he couldn’t do during his NJPW tenure.

>Another unresolved issue had been his old NJPW entrance music, "STARDUST," which had won enormous fan support but could no longer be used due to rights issues. However, his new theme is now nearly finished. The working title, "EL COMIENZO," means "It Begins Here" in Spanish.

>"At first, I kept thinking, 'I really wish I could use STARDUST again,' but as I kept submitting revisions and requests, I got attached to the new song. Now, I’m excited to take my first step with it. I had a strong emotional connection to my old unit name and entrance music, but maybe it’s better not to cling to them. After all, I’ve already stepped forward," he said with a smile while digging into his baked rice casserole.

>After finishing their meal, BUSHI—who had remained mostly silent aside from discussing the event—suddenly said, "Can I just say one thing? Actually, my 18th anniversary photobook just came out. I’ll donate about 10 copies for reader giveaways. I’ll go grab them from the car," and headed off to the parking lot. When he didn’t return for a while, Naito joked, "Maybe 10 books was too much for one person… but hey, when it comes to heavy lifting, leave it to the wrestlers." And with that, he went after him. But no matter how long you waited, neither of them came back. All that was left on the table was the check.

he's an idol, you'll surprised that a big chunk of his fanbase are just normies, young women and aunties.
but it's his 4th match and they sold out korakuen, and the show did good numbers on abema, so it's fair (about abema numbers, on 5ch DDT thread they said "43,000 just before the program ended")

to-y won against hikaru sato, they announced another match for first day of wrestle peter pan, yuya koroku challenged to-y for the belt

NOAH and All Japan are worse now then they were this time last year. DDT is a joke, but they tell you they're in on the joke so it's okay. Dragon Gate is based but only if you like high speed junior wrestling, otherwise avoid it. GLEAT, Zero-1, BJW and Kyushu only watch if you're a real puro sicko - nothing major going on among them.

Anyway it's not just him but also Naya.

>Announcement Regarding the Absence of Yukio Naya and Yuni
Due to neck pain caused by accumulated damage, Yukio Naya will be absent from the following events, including today's Shinjuku event.
>Additionally, Yuni sustained an injury at yesterday's Shinjuku event and has been diagnosed with a fractured (cracked) left rib. As a result, they will be absent from all events up to the July 27 (Sun) Sumitomo Metal Mining Arena Ome event and will subsequently take a long-term absence due to university entrance exams.
