Hope so. Like every other post-2004 maineventer, he's proven he is not a draw on his own, and he needs the WWE machine to make him look like one. Reminder: Hogan, Savage, Flair left the winning WWF and helped WCW reverse the tide. None of these so called modern legends could do that. Not Punk, not Danielson, not Edge.

>Like every other post-2004 maineventer, he's proven he is not a draw on his own
There is no one single wrestler who's any sort of consistent draw on their own though anymore. That timeframe you've picked and even earlier. Rock wasn't while he was back. Cena hasn't been. Austin wasn't a few years ago. Undertaker wasn't either. Goldberg sure as shit isn't. Hogan's new venture is as dimeless as they come and you could argue he's as big of a marquee name as there is in wrestling

I'd still pop honestly. Would still love if even just once he used the Zombie theme again. Might not be as iconic as Metalingus but goddamn was that a good entrance
>>18166617
>the judgment day
Honestly if he does come back once his AEW contract is up (he should) then even beyond things with Cena the story there is to revisit with the Judgment Day would actually be dimes. Edge, Priest, and Rhea vs Finn, Dom, and Roxanne. Figure out a few more names on each side and that'd be a based War Games match that finally wouldn't involve the Bloodline

Kinda crazy how AEW's legitimately fumbled this guy. He's still over as hell. He can still wrestle better than all of the other 50 year olds going today. They spent more time using him for rah rah speeches than actually letting him cut promos. At least WWE had him in a Mania main event. Or had him wrestle at Mania at all. He's about to be 0-2 on All In appearances since signing there

Cena's retirement run should've been like a comic book/manga hero versus his villain gallery. Most of Cena's are still active or can go(at least for one match) could've been interesting and definitely FUN. oh well ;(

>There is no one single wrestler who's any sort of consistent draw on their own though anymore
Because they're trash.
>Rock wasn't while he was back
Different Rock coming off the GOAT Rock. The guy came back last year and drew 3 milly. As soon as he left, Cody's run fell to 1 milly. And that's with wrestling having it's lowest ratings ever.
>Cena hasn't been.
Cena is a grampa. And was never a draw in his peak. He stopped the bleeding, never increased it.
>Austin wasn't a few years ago.
Old. He's from 27 years ago.
>Undertaker
Debuted almost 40 years ago
>Goldberg sure as shit isn't
OLD. Prime was 26 years ago, anon.
>Hogan
He was wrestling 50 years ago.

He can't even wrestle better than Christian, let alone Shelton Benjamin. Dustin Rhodes is 4 years older and can wrestle circles around 2025 Edge. The literal elderly man from CMLL that Bryan Danielson wrestled last year wrestles better than 2025 Edge.

Yup. He got a nice welcome back pop for a while but fans flipped on him and by that Summerslam which was in Toronto kek they were outright booing him. Was the best thing that could've happened to him though because he pitched turning heel and that began the run that led to the Rated-R Superstar persona

>Edge

I'll give that Miz is a SUPER underrated one. Punk's whole "rivalry" with Cena was entirely one sided. It was more Punk chasing Cena around trying to get his attention while feuding with Vince, Triple H, and others as Cena's focus was always on the Rock. Edge though. No one made Cena's life more hell just as well as no one could ruin Edge's day more than Cena. There was a reciprocity to it, and the way that they'd organically come together and drift in different directions just to come back together again

Randy was always so forced to me. I feel like him and Batista were more parallels than rivals but they did have that feud. JBL 100% though. I was just ranking those three from that last post in that isolated group. I think the Punk rivalry is super overrated. They had that one good match on Raw and even that was match where the other was trying to get a shot at someone else kek

WWE would take Edge back in a heartbeat. Truthfully, writing this now I feel like they may be anticipating it which is why they've made sure to keep the Edge trademark not only all of this time but that they've renewed it as recently as they have

I can't think of anything that would kill the goodwill AEW's been building back up quicker than this. It's one thing to do this to young talent who you don't want WWE getting their hands on right away. But for legends and HOFers who are in the twilight of their careers where every month matters? And to deny people of the chance of seeing those two together potentially one last time? All just to keep a guy around to collect dust, because we know Tony won't actually use anyone he can't get to re-sign. Then holy hell what a shitshow that would be
