Still a big crowd compared to Houston and based on what fans there are saying, the crowd is hot for the most simplest of moves. I think the Suzume match opened up btw.

>>18238952have you been to a wrestling show before? im a fellow texas resident. texas crowds are some of the best crowds though ive only been to aew shows. i cant speak for other companies. the crowd at all in was amazing so some of those fans definitely went to go see the tjpw show today.
>>18238973You're confusing non wrestling fans with plants

>>18239170They need to do show in near a top media market and fly in destination in the US to make sure the infrastructure is there so a broadcast can be done like that. But some of those cities that have smaller venues that they fit the budget and the size they need may not be in the best neighborhoods, such as the old ECW Arena. So they may want to try more of a tourist destination city like Las Vegas, Orlando, or Miami the next go round. There a lot of spaces they can use due to the amount of conventions that take place in and around those cities.

Show of the year from a match quality standpoint. Better than Ittenyon. Undercard was so-so but the top three matches were all phenomenal. It will be extremely difficult for anyone to top Miu vs. Shoko. Stardom PPV level main event.
>>18239975wtf. ill wait for the official announcement. it did look packed there but it didnt look 2k packed

>>18240048Meant that Shoko vs. Miu was Stardom PPV main event level.
The actual main event was way better than I expected. Lots of crowd brawling.
Misao tag match was great.
Do not skip this VOD. Crowd was hot throughout. It was a lot of AEW fans so there were a lot of "this is awesome" and "fight forever" chants.
Fucking shame they couldn't get the streaming to work. There was no cell service in the building and the wifi was shit so I'm not surprised.
>>18239975Take that, Sukeban
>>18240092>Meant that Shoko vs. Miu was Stardom PPV main event level. I understand what you meant and you're a huge faggot for saying it
This show will easily blow away SSP in attendance (as is tradition, they will fail to draw under 1000 at Ota Ward).
TJPW PPV in America next!
I wonder if any of the girls were inspired by what they saw at All In and will incorporate it into their own work
I could see Wakana trying to do a Buckshot Lariat. It's simple and unnecessarily flashy, the way she likes it.
>>18240115>they will fail to draw under 1000 at Ota Wardso they'll do over 1000? nice
>>18240115Their big shows always draw more than that. Even the relatively soft GP 25 had more than that
>>18240092once again proving my point the tag match should go last being the best build match but it won't ofc
>>18240115If they announce 2,500 I'd believe it. Every single seat they had set up was full. Can't say if it was heavily papered to fill out the top but I don't think so.

>>18240201no one is doing that but its dumb to think that the big turnout wasnt because of all in.
>>18240201AEW at its nadir of attendance could sneeze and still accidentally outdraw 99% of tjpw shows. That's not a knock on tjpw, but it's a different product and a different thing entirely. They're not really worth comparing, even if people still are weird and want to do so.
But tens of thousands of people traveled to the area for AEW. Some spillover was going to happen. It's not a big deal. Hopefully some people walk away satisfied and looking for more TJPW.
>>18240239It was because of TJPW

>>18240276well since you didnt answer my question, the answer was 389 and 400. the houston shows did more around 500. dallas doing 2k is an anomaly because of all in. its that simple.
>>18240295>but id say 99% of the fans were still wrestling fanswrestling fans who've gone to plenty of wrestling shows were remarking on how unusual the crowd was. it was a lot less than 99%

>>18240318probably the fans that had just gone to the houston shows. one had 415 and the other had 2k. the former is the first time theyve experienced such a big ass crowd especially for a joshi event. still, a lot of the rest came from the all in show.
>>18240318probably the fans that had just gone to the houston shows. one had 415 and the other had 2k. the latter is the first time theyve experienced such a big ass crowd especially for a joshi event. still, a lot of the rest came from the all in show.
>>18240240would TJPW even make money on this trip? I guess they are running 3 shows but it'd cost a lot to even get 15-20 talents out there. I'm surprised they didn't rely on more local american/fringe AEW talent.
>>18240330forbidden door is in the uk this year but i would say its harder to do indie shows over there. they had to team up with eve last year during all in week and they only sent a few tjpw wrestlers.
>>18240400if tokyo story are footing the bill for flights/visas/hotels/venue fees then yes
>>18240400oil-sama will make sure them make money. Also yeah, all in was probably the main draw, but considering a lot of the people probably just knew about maki itoh and still decided to check the show
>>18240400>I'm surprised they didn't rely on AEW talent.that wouldve cost them more money. yuka and billie were as low as they could go.
>>18240221That's a shill trying to connect to the zoomer crowd.
>>18240318TJPW is incredibly easy to market to the crowd outside of Japan that likes anime and that kind of stuff. I'd argue even easier than Stardom because of the greater focus TJPW has on the girls having big and cute personalities and the more relaxed and fun atmosphere.
>>18240400Probably. The girls most likely made a killing on merch, especially as the prices are probably jacked up compared to what they'd be in Japan.
>>18240425not really because you are comparing cost of booking for the show vs. flying someone out. Floor tickets were ~80 usd though so they made bank on that show.

>>18240473AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Thats a Tjpw record right of all time? Whats funny is that they drew more during All In week than they did during Wrestlemania week. Never thought that would happen. Remember when people doubted anyone would go to Forney?
>>18240498The Bushiroad has become an overgrown friendly field
2,540 is fucking ridiculous kek. and zero coverage from any of the so called wrestling journalists
>>18240330>>18240404Not to mention last year there was overlap between All In and the Tokyo Princess Cup, hence only being able to send a few people who thusly could not enter the tournament even though they only missed one show (since I guess in kayfabe what if Mahiro made it to the finals?)
I don't think TJPW will send anybody to England for Forbidden Door during a busy summer period for them again. Last year they sent Miyu, Raku, Mahiro, and Himawari (and Aja) and this year they are all expected to be around for the TPC (except Mahiro who was already eliminated). And the EVE people haven't promoted anything of the sort.
>>18240511>Thats a Tjpw record right of all time?By a lot. Their previous high was this year's Ittenyon at 1483.
>>18240511>Thats a Tjpw record right of all time?GP 24 was 2,349 so yea
>>18240532No? It was GP24
>>18240511>they drew more during All In week than they did during Wrestlemania weekheres my console war comment. wwe fans are just wwe fans. aew fans are wrestling fans. that simple. shoot they popped for syuri when she came out. miyu got multiple chants in her roh match.
>>18240511Yeah beats out their previous best of 2349
>>18240532No it wasn't you idiot, their previous ALL TIME high was Grand Princess 2024 at Sumo Hall which was 2349. Learn to read
>>18240564They drew more because there's way more shows at WM weekend whereas there wasn't a glut of them here. Also Oil-sama just flat out has a better understanding of how to promote things than GCW or CyberFight it seems. Seemed to know to work with local promotions, target fans who might not be into wrestling but do like anime and cute Japanese stuff and the like.
I hope oil sama gets a blowie from Maki for destroying NXT like this. He deserves it
>>18240330This Texas run seems like it was bankrolled by an enthusiastic rich oil guy who is both Japanese and who likes wrestling. The PR guy who did the AMA said he'd like to do this once a year.
I'd think doing shows like this probably only makes sense for Mania and All In weeks, but then again the Seattle weekend seemed to do well for them. I guess they just need somebody, either Defy Wrestling or Oil-Sama or GCW, to foot the bill.
All Out in Toronto is selling really well and the city has the international flavor and traveling wrestling community that would make it work, but it's probably too late to book something for that
>>18240595All Out is on the same day as Wrestle Princess
>>18240532Chinny is that you? Only person I can think of who makes such weird inaccurate claims
>>18240425I wonder if they give them a friend/family discount. Takeshita was at the Seattle shows just hanging out because it was DDT, and so his prices for meeto were DDT prices instead of "star who is actually on TV" prices. No way he'd be charging 30 bucks in any other context. It was an excuse to work with his bros and hang out with them while also helping them draw.
>>18240448This is the same as what Sukeban is trying to do, except they want to own all the IP and force them into uncomfortable costumes and gimmicks instead of letting them showcase themselves and what they do best.
And prices are higher and the dollar is stronger. Even the Japanese uncles who were mad about the meeto rules understood that it's much more expensive here than what they pay at home.
>>18240511Mania weekend has too many options to slice up the stragglers, All In weekend is untested with less indie shows at the same area and most promoters are conservative when it comes to risk aversion
Total attendance for the Texas tour is 3,370, which is a higher total than any month of shows they've done before. Including the Japan shows they've done the total for this month so far is 4,060

>>18240473STOP THE COUNT!!!
>>18240720I'd count that as a joint show so not really TJPW roster by itself. You'd have to split it 3 ways if you were being really generous to TJPW

>>18240729he unironically makes very little with njpw and ddt. he will get a bigger contract once his aew deal is up also.

>>18240281I met everybody between the two nights in Houston. I didn't even stick around to see the chaos. They might legitimately be there until 8:00 or 9:00 pm.
Regarding crowd makeup, I'd roughly guess 85-15 wrestling fan to non-fan. Maybe 90-10. They wouldn't have drawn that crowd without AEW. Just what it is.

>>18241262Their Miami skate park event where they drew 1500 was actually 1500 but filled with comps. I know because a friend of mine literally went only because he got a free ticket. yeah, good luck being an uncle and taking a pic like this in japanese meeto and greeto
>>18241639Listen man I got to make a heart hand shape with Miu after waiting 3000 hours in line and will carry that joy through the next week at least. Stop making me jealous and let me have something
>>18241636show's over but because of shitty internet it's going to be (VOD) anyway
>>18241636based on the thread. the show is already finished
>>18240908Alright.
>Monkey v. EatsGood opener. About what you'd expect. Kamiyu had her working boots on. Wakana looked really good too throughout the match, at least the best she's looked on this tour. Wakana tapped.
>Moka v. that chick I've never heard ofOne of the most basic matches I've ever seen live. It was like something you'd see from two people who have been working in front of live crowds for a month. The black chick got the heat on Moka forever and then Moka made a comeback and pinned her.
>Shino/Misao v. Pom/RakuGood stuff. Lots of comedy immediately. Pom brought out the gacha machine and she and Raku bought a bunch of capsules and peppered Shino with them who sold them like death. Raku got run over with the machine. Misao got her bike and did the runover spot. She also got the spray reversed into her eyes. Pom gave me a double high five. Second half of the match in the ring was really good. Raku pinned Shino.
>Arai v. Maya WorldThis was pretty disappointing actually. I thought this would be better than it was. Kind of a weird vibe because I think Maya is from Dallas and there was a big contingent cheering for her and booing the shit out of Arai which I think might have thrown her off a bit. Not a bad match, but nothing to really talk about. Arai won with her kick.
>>18241639Oh god that AEW tranny was all over All In as well.
We need to gatekeep harder.
Their success this week not being domestic is double-edged in the long run. It means feds start copying with a more popular version of sukeban, and start throwing money at teej players for exclusivity, Happens every time. Nick Khan was at a Sukeban show probably for this reason. He likes to have his eyes on everything
>>1824163631 bongs if they're releasing it to the normal VOD timeline. The venue had fuck all WiFi and nobody could even get a phone signal in there, was super far from Dallas, generally terrible choice. I can only imagine they might have approached evolution numbers if they had been closer. The fact they sold it out is an immense showing from the girls just being utterly dimes weeb magnets even if it was in the middle of fucking nowhere
>>18241663I fucking hate this website. Sorry about the pic.
>Shoko v. MiuLegitimate TJPW match of the year contender. I think it's probably the best singles match of the year so far. It went close to half an hour. Started out with some good mat/chain wrestling and eventually spilled to the outside with dives. It was back and forth for the last ten or so minutes and was just awesome. They countered each other's finishers and had a ton of great near falls at the end. Miu pinned Shoko. The crowd dynamic was nuts. Both got equal cheers coming out but as the match went on Shoko become the massive underdog babyface and people were absolutely booing the hell out of Miu. She cut off Shoko's comeback a couple times and the crowd was furious. The look on Miu's face was priceless. No way she's ever gotten boos like that in her career. Just awesome. Watch this match when it goes up.
>Vert/Miyu v. Yuka/BillieReally great match. It went over 20 minutes, close to 25 I think. Very AEW/indie style so if that's your thing you'll like it. A bit of finisher spam and kick outs at the end. Some really awesome back and forth striking between Miyu and Yuka. Vert and Billie were great too. Some crazy high spots including a vertical suplex on the stage. Vert ate the pin.
>Mizuki v. MakiZero chance these two were going to be able to follow the previous two matches with Itoh in the ring, but she had her working boots on and it ended up being pretty good. I was surprised that the crowd seemed very split, Itoh wasn't nearly as over as she seemed to be on the Houston shows. A lot of crowd brawling early. Mizuki hit the top rope foot stomp with Maki across the second rope. Cross body to the floor. There were some good near falls at the end but Mizuki hit the bridging suplex to win. I thought for sure she was going to break out Whirling Candy but it didn't happen.
>>18241705>It went close to half an hour.it went 16 minutes according to the results page
>>18241639No wonder the Arisu/Aria megafan flew all the way from Japan, she got more skinship than she would have from 10 years of JP meetos
>Maya World
https://youtu.be/R6Kkn0RuQns
You kidding, right.
Itoh can't hold the whirling candy.
>>18241705I didn't take a ton of pics but I'll upload a few.
Also, if they do this next year you need to go. Start saving money now. If it doesn't end up happening, well at least you saved back some money. This would have been worth flying in from overseas for. Best week of my life.
>>18241753tjpwstacies look like that?
>>18241699Hmm the venue not having wifi checks out that wrestilng events have been ran there but not streamed.
>>18241639WOULD for both of them
>>18241663>>Arai v. Maya World>This was pretty disappointing actually.sums up arai matches in a nutshell
>>18241773maybe on planet troon
>>18241152Mahiro would unironically probably get over pretty well since her gimmick of being a bullied loser is universally funny.
>>18240109What's the problem with saying that the match was "Stardom level" if their matches are actually at a higher level, denying that is denying reality...
>>18241447Well they're NYC artfag hipsters so probably.
>>18241800stardom is worse than tjpw
>>18241796When she came to the UK, she started pulling on HIMAWARI's hair and they crowd started chanting YOU SICK FUCK YOU SICK FUCK. She'd probably be over in the US too yeah
>>18241736Seriously? Felt way longer than that, goddamn.
>>18241769Her febbarit is Pom just like me so I think we should date
>>18241663>>18241705Funny that Arai and Miu had to deal with boos. Especially Miu, who is super popular stateside and is workrate-y the way US indie fans enjoy. But Shoko is undeniable. And she's small so people are going to root for her over the big pink monster.
It's funny because in Japan it'd be Miu as the junior and thus the underdog, where here it's different and bigger = power.
>>18241750Someone is gonna find where you were sitting and post your face dox.
>>18241853Really don't care. I'm amazed you guys weren't able to figure it out in Houston.
>>18241152I bet Toga and Haru get culture shock with how the meeto works overseas. But also draw out the rest of the TJPW stacies in the process.
>>18241845What's her twitter?
>>18241828i wonder what do the players smells like?
>>18241699>super far from Dallas22 miles ain't the boonies.
>>18241865I'll find you but not post it.
>>18241868https://x.com/luluaoba
>>18241853it's too hard to tell the fat mexicans apart
>>18241865i did, i just didn't care enough to post about it
>>18240473I'm gonna need Brandon Thurston to confirm this with a public request. We don't need another ticket controversy.
>>18240473goddamn I love the girls
>>18241912based, just DMd her a pic of my hog
>>18241924Hey look, it's me.
>>18241924eeeehhhhhh scotto-san?
>>18241940could be the next OP pic
>>18241989Cowboy hat Misao is super over with me. Yeehaw!
>>18241989YUCK misaofans look like that?
>>18241773Why is it Arai's fault they keep having her going up against black chicks who can't actually work and just want to twerk or whatever?
>>18241981its really gets to a point with the attention whoring
>>18241940Vertvixen can stay
>>18241705>I thought for sure she was going to break out Whirling Candy but it didn't happen.Would you actually trust Itoh to be able to base and spin properly for it? Mizuki was never really working with anyone these shows he'd be able to.
>>18241893It was 45 minutes drive, without traffic, and if you could drive you had to get a cab. Parking was also awful, that venue just doesn't have enough spots for 2500 people
>>18242086according to the voices in your head?
>Great show! It was super fun, especially the main event with Maki Itoh. The only bad thing is being next to two belligerent idiots who yelled nonsensical and objectifying remarks at every wrestler, with a touch of transphobia thrown in. Y'all were idiots in the worst meaning of the word and brought the show down for everyone in the section.
>>18242032In Vegas they had Arai work with Arisu. First time, foreign land, best foot forward. Then they kept giving her these foreigners who regardless of quality is just not setting her up for success.
They didn't even do this with Wakana, whose first US opponent was Kamiyu.
>>18242086The fuck? No it's not, he's German and broke and doesn't go to live wrestling. Last one he went to over the past 5 years was maybe all in 2 at wembley
Namba attracting her main demographic.
>>18242173Peps certainly doesn't watch or attend tjpw shows, or else his takes would be less shit.
>>18242172koda doesn't understand his own wrestlers
>>18242219He just wanted to give to singles wins to Arai
Maki Itoh & Mizuki ushered in the TJPW Attitude Era with their viral social media posts.
>>18242291then he should've booked her against pom or raku or shino instead
>>18241940very cool shot of our tojo gals and also verto
I really hope someone signs Vert soon. She busted her ass these shows.
arai fans having another meltdown because she delivered yet again another mid performance
>>18242521>meltdownwhere?
>>18242508Selfishly I hope not for a while because I want to keep seeing her in a promotion I actually watch instead of getting added to one of the two US toychests
>>18242364He can book these matches on any japanese shows no point in doing them on shows where he can book gaijin jobbers
>>18242552you keep vert but lose miyu
teej is too mainstream now. i shan't be watching any longer.
>>18242622i will only watch ice ribbon and pure-j once tjpw gets mainstream
>>18242613american fans want to see actual tjpw matches though. this tour was mostly matches you'd see on the undercard of a house show and fans loved them
>>18242622I'm making the switch to Diana
>>18242086yannik is a pathetically skinny and frail child that is somehow already balding despite being a literal child
>>18242508This is prob just an ass joke but she's the champ of Dustin Rhodes' indie fed and had worked ROH a bit lately. I'm sure if she wanted to give up the shoot job she would.
>>18241705sniffing yamashitas asshole
