As someone who just started watching wrestling a few months ago, I'd like someone to explain why everyone is pretending the Iyo v Rhea match was good (and I'm not even talking about the cash in, i mean the actual match proper)
And, no
>le flashy spots
>it was long
are not reasons

I want someone to actually make the case that the in-ring story was good. Because to me it was just a half hour of some part-timer countering every move that the supposed most dominant woman in the division tried to throw at her, and doing it with a kawaii smile on her face like it took no effort.
And what do we get from it, where do the characters go from here? Iyo and Rhea just hug it out like besties? I actually thought Rhea might be driven into turning heel and cheating in order to finally beat Iyo, but no that decision would take guts. So Iyo's entire title reign was fumbled, and Rhea continues to be a paper tiger...but it's ok because the match spilled into the stands
>THEY'RE WRESTLING RIGHT NEXT TO ME THAT MEANS IT'S A GOOD MATCH

maybe i'm too smart for this sport

it was as they say a "heatless banger"
the banger part is exaggerated partly because it's a women's match, and partly because console war reasons

No, "it was good" does not answer the question "why was this good?"

Is it really that much to ask for a fan of something to explain why they like it? Go to any other hobby board and ask
>Why did you enjoy that video game/movie/soccer match?
and they'll actually be able to have a substantial discussions on the merit of the media.

What about that match did you like?

it wasn't that great. the 2nd half of the match was pretty good, it flowed well and it kept you guessing who was going to win. the first half of the match was stiff and sloppy. but at the end of the day, getting you invested and wondering who is going to come out on top is the sign that a match is at least decent, and that match was at least decent.

Yeah, the second half seemed to be more interesting, but i guess my biggest issue was that the first half utterly killed any investment i had in the match altogether.
they spend weeks, arguably months, setting up this match and the first 15 minutes is totally one sided. Just Super Iyo ragdolling Rhea every time she tries to get some offense in.
And I guess that's when i just lost interest (no matter how much better the match may have gotten) because Paul has only given me two options
>the script says Iyo wins lol
>the script says rhea hulks up, hits a cheap finisher and steals it after getting dominated all match
neither of which is a good story
