Tony Khan Says Jon Moxley Is AEW’s Version of Ric Flair
While speaking on 1035 KISSFM, Tony Khan was asked who in AEW plays the same role that Ric Flair did for the NWA and he said Jon Moxley:

>“Jon Moxley. He’s somebody who could be the top hero, the top fan favorite. He’s somebody who could be the top villain, as he’s proven. He bleeds buckets. They have very different mentalities in terms of, uh, they are very different. Jon Moxley is the ultimate blue-collar wrestler. Ric Flair is the ultimate white-collar wrestler. But they have this hard-hitting mentality.”

Khan said Moxley is the most decorated world champion of the modern era:

>“Jon Moxley was actually the last 200, 250-day-a-year world champion in wrestling. Wrestling became much more of a television-focused business in the past decade. But about, you know, ten years ago, nine years ago, Jon Moxley was the last person to do 200, 250 days a year as the world champion. Fact. And that is very much the Ric Flair mentality."

>"Also, Jon Moxley is the most decorated world champion. It’s a lot like Ric Flair because Jon Moxley is the only person ever to hold the AEW World Championship, the WWE World Championship, and the IWGP World Championship in New Japan. And Jon Moxley is the only four-time AEW World Champion.”

>“Now, there’s other aspects of Ric Flair. You say the white-collar profile. I think the mentality, you could go another way and say, is a pure villain. We’ve never seen now the versatility of Ric Flair to be a hero. We’ve seen a bit of him as a hero, and he’s done very, very well.”

I'd say MJF is the modern Flair, Mox is more like the modern Funk.

>Jon Moxley is the ultimate blue-collar wrestler.
But Mox isn't blue collar at all. He's a multi-millionaire at this point and he isn't even trying to work a blue collar gimmick. What planet is Tony on?
>[gagging noises]
I wonder if Mox is toying with the idea of returning to WWE. That'd explain why Tony's sucking his dick so hard.

Tony basically booked all of these except the WWE one which is kind of like Meltzer referencing his own star ratings as objective fact.

Moxley has a far better repertoire of matches than Flair, who had the exact same match every time for 40 years in a row.

What does it matter if he's a millionaire now? He has the work ethic of a blue collar guy. When he was the arguably biggest guy in AEW a few years ago he still agreed to work on other promotions even if he didn't have to, he even worked on smaller independents shows such as that time he appeared in GCW.
And he even gave them a condition that if he appears in their show they must pay his opponent the same amount so that the other guy doesn't get screwed because he isn't as popular, and when John learned that they screwed his opponent(Nick Gage) regardless out of the same payday he vowed to never work for GCW ever again.
And he doesn't have an ego unlike other popular guys, he put MJF over when he could've just bury him, or Eddie Kingston and so on.
If you want a perfect example of a hypocritical sellout just look at Phill because John ain't it.

Mox works less days than a WWE midcarder. His work ethic isn't anything special. Imagine trying to pretend like some highly paid white collar millionaire is le hecking blue collar hero kek.
>he doesn't have an ego
The number of times Mox has been champion highly suggests he has a large ego.

WWE doesn't do house shows anymore and Mox works indy dates so he actually works more.
