Genuinely putting aside all of the jokes it just is the case for a lot of fans if you grow up in Mexico, you’re probably going to dream of arena Mexico or WWE if you grow up in Japan, you’re probably going to dream of doing new Japan or maybe end up dreaming of WWE if you grow up anywhere else You’re almost certainly for now at least going to grow up dreaming of WWE. There’s always some weird standouts like Eddie Kingston, who saw all Japan VHS tapes early so he dreamed of like Kouraken but overall most wrestlers on earth are going to dream of like one of those few things cause AEW just doesn’t have that longevity that legacy or anything to be the one that people dream of. It just is what it is, and I don’t know that it will literally ever change.

That's the reason why. A lot of people have left AEW to go to WWE, but a lot of them had been sitting in catering, or had clearly had major issues with Tony. But Mariah May was a homegrown AEW superstar. She was a huge part of the show, and Tony gave her everything she could've wanted, and she still went to WWE for less money the first chance she got. No wrestler leaving AEW has ever been this upsetting to them.
