only comparable time was the attitude era with rock and stone cold. but i'm pretty sure most adults knew who hulk hogan and andre the giant were. doesn't mean most adults loved wwf, but they were at least aware of those guys. i would say hogan was one of the most recognizable people in america at his peak.

but people like hercules and hart foundation were guys only active fans would know, and were not on the radar as actual "celebrities."
roddy and captain lou would probably be considered like c-list or d-list celebrities. certainly more well known among normals than seth rollins or jey uso or gunther, who are legit nobodies outside of wresting fandom.
