Simple answer: WWE has become like Disney and Nintendo. They have a devoted cult of fans that want to "believe" in something and be a part of the "community". No matter how bad the product or services these companies put out are, these fans will continue to buy as well as defend the companies all over the internet and in real life. These fans are typically weak, very liberal men that are easily persuaded by marketing.
I can only think of WWE, Nintendo and Disney, but I'm sure this can be applied to other companies.
