They spent MONTHS talking about the rivalry between her and Toni Storm and how it was the greatest thing since Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock. When it ended, they called it the greatest feud ever.
And 10 minutes after it ended, one of the stars of said feud left to the much-hated competition. And she didn't even go straight to the main event, which would have justified how much they overhyped her, no no. She's put in NXT doing a silly angle based on calling Jordynne Grace ugly. Shit, did she even say goodbye to AEW? I don't think so.
The shellshock of all this is mindbreaking, they just can't take it, and so they lash out in seething anger. It's quite sad, really. Pity them.

Of course, I know that. But even if NXT didn't beat AEW, just being there with a chance to grow and move up to the main brands would make it a much better option than staying in AEW as their star.
My point is, AEW fans can't deal with that. They can't accept Monroe ditched them without a word and left for the E after they shilled for her and her feud with Toni Storm so hard and for so long. She basically spat on them and on TK. And what's more, AEW fans are first and foremost console-warring WWE haters, and AEW fans second. So it's a bigger betrayal than if she had left to TNA or Japan or any other place.
