Pulling another BOSJ where everyone has the same points doesn't help. It makes less sense for this G1 because the playoff structure means you can have a couple guys with dominant block runs but the play-off picture is still in the air. Feels like just holding back until the playoffs.

The parity in BOSJ was fine since the division is in a very stable state with guests that made a field truly stacked. The only thing throws it off is losing BUSHI and thus losing out on what would've been an exciting block finals match with Hiromu and getting the pin over his stablemate for Robbie X just sort of beating the top Jr and shooting his own angle with Fujita.

The G1 at least has several stories going on so there's at least some idea behind the pointsharing. BOSJ was void of that. Plus the playoffs offer proper resolution to the issue of so many people in the block sharing points as you have the fight in a knockout stage to even make it to the final

Tsuji's last match is with Newman. I guess they wanna put a tiny bit of drama on it by having him on a losing streak. Also Finlay needs to win so his match with Uemura has some real stakes to it.

Personally I think Tsuji should be having the run Zack had last year but what the fuck ever.

Just leave everything to Takeshita. Leave everything to Big Tone and AEW. As long as NJPW has the AEW partnership, NJPW will stay afloat. AEW is protecting your precious little NJPW from the evil fucking Fed. They just purchased AAA and raped them. What makes you think your silly little Japanese bingo hall promotion is a special snowflake, huh? You NJPW fags should be on your hands and knees thanking Tony Khan. You ungrateful fucks.

Of course Takeshita should win your G1 Climax tournament. Takeshita is the most popular wrestler in NJPW right now. If he doesn't win then don't come crying to me when Tokyo Dome Wrestle doesn't even get twenty thousy this time. Who else would win, huh? Yota Chubby? Shooter Unno? Ren Nobita? Don't make me laugh. Maybe Hirooki Goto could have done it. But your pathetic NJPW doesn't have the money to pay him. He decided to leave and become an actor instead. Maybe your little NJPW should try to get some money first instead of crying about wrestlers leaving all the time. Tell Kidani to stop spending less money on soaplands. He goes for the high end service rooms everytime. Wrestlers are not gonna work for you for free or for your little peanut NJPW salary. Simple as.

That's part of what I'm wondering along with his build, it's less the look and more the fact he chose pro-wrestling, got in with NJPW, has been with them a while behind-the-scenes and still looks like this. Comes across like he needed a back-up plan in life and money and this was it.

I have no narrative. I watch the matches, watch the backstage stuff, listen to the crowds.

Yuya has the most potential right now, he had little to no support or handouts coming back from excursion and had an absolutely awful timed injury, but he's clawing his way to the top.

Oiwa was all but forgotten at NJPW, until his work in NOAH improbably took off. Since his return he's only proven that it wasnt a fluke.

Tsuji has a "junk food" style of wrestling, it's easy to pop the crowd and he was placed in the ultra cool stable and given a strong push. He succeeded by design... but he's showing a lack of progress and a touch of lethargy in ring. Fans have noticed, he can turn things around but he needs to get into the next gear.

Narita started as a Shibata clone, which wasn't bad... but obviously the comparison was going to make him look lacking. Then he wasted time with Suzuki... and then HoT came calling. Now he's like... the 4th most interesting guy in a stable with no fan favorites (except for contrarians). He has immense potential but if he doesn't find the right gimmick it'll prolong his stay at the bottom.

Umino was handed everything. High profile excursion, main event angles, fancy entrances, tournament dominance... all culminating at WK. Was it a good match? Yeah, sure. It was good, not great. He's just not at that level, and after that rocket push he may never get there.

You know I'm right but you'll just respond with shitposting. Guaranteed.

I like Yuya a lot. Tsuji I still have some hopes for. Narita concerns me a little because it just feels like he hasn't hit the right groove yet but I'm hoping being around Shibata, Suzuki, and now HoT has exposed him to a few different ways of doing things and is getting some sort of gears turning in his head.

I'm pissed the Taichi G1 story is cut off before the final night and by fucking Callum again of all people. He could bring so much emotion and energy to the play-offs even if he loses but instead a young, green guy who has been given way too much this year already and still can barely generate any interest pulls the plug. Is Tanahashi making his hair look like Naito foreshadowing? Or was it just too humid in Yokohama?

>uemura isn't advancing
I hope you're wrong, he's been the most consistent player in the G1 this year... but he's heading into the final stretch with the number advantage, so you're probably right.

We'll know after the next round... he just needs to beat Finlay (and Tanahashi needs to put down EVIL), that would seal the deal.

Uemura needs the G1 win to establish his rise, Tsuji had his main event, Umino had his, even Narita had a main event title shot!

ZSJ/Takeshita makes sense, Shota/Shingo was too boring at the start to be on that level.

Oddly enough that was partially why Shota/Takeshita was so weak.

Shota is just doing the trademark "work a limb for 10 straight minutes before both guys forget out it completely and start doing movez" style the last generation did, except less convincingly and in a post-Yuya/Oiwa world.
