YoshiTatsu blog on Kitamiya joining T2KX:

>Too bad! Just like I promised, the Chairman has arrived!

>In TEAM2000X, he now stands as the second most powerful man, right after our "Godfather," Takashi Sugiura.

>That’s right—
>**"The Chairman"**
>**Masa Kitamiya!**

>As you all know, the Chairman was born as a counter to the corruption, bribery, and cozy backroom dealings of the "Den of Evil" known as NOAH and the "Fraudulent Unit" Passion RATELS.

>Securing the current *Player's Union President* is a huge gain for TEAM2000X.

>And right away, he flexed his power—
>on 7.26 in Kyoto, after being ignored by NOAH no matter how loudly we demanded it,
>he *forced* a GHC Tag Title rematch to be made official *right in the ring*!

>That’s the power of the Players’ President

>NOAH must’ve finally realized they had no choice—because if they kept stalling, who knows what we would’ve done.
>They caved and officially announced the match the night before last.

>If they had defied the Players' President’s order,
>we were fully prepared to have TEAM2000X boycott all matches

>Smart move, NOAH

>The Chairman’s already pulled off a major power play—but as many of you know,
>he’s had a past filled with pain and struggle.

>Let’s unravel how he came to join TEAM2000X, scars and all.

>Whether you believe it or not... depends on your current condition!

>Read at your own risk!

the rest is behind a paywall

>At DRAGONGATE’s August 5 Korakuen Hall show, Open the Dream Gate Champion Shun Skywalker suffered a shocking referee stoppage loss in a preview match against his first challenger, Madoka Kikuta (25), ahead of their title bout on the 17th at Ota Ward Gymnasium.

>Shun won the belt on July 13, but was betrayed by Kikuta and kicked out of the heel unit Z-Brats. Burning for revenge, Shun teamed with Hokuto in the night’s main event against Kikuta and ISHIN.

>Early in the bout, Kikuta blasted Shun with a chair, leaving him laid out. Hokuto was left alone 2-on-1, but Shun recovered and retaliated with a desperation face kick and his own chair shot, swinging momentum back.

>The back-and-forth battle spiraled into chaos when Kikuta introduced a hammer. He tried to sneak attack Shun, but Shun saw it coming, disarmed him, and countered. However, a lariat from Kikuta shut him down, and after continued punishment, the referee called for the stoppage at 19:06.

>Shun, who calls himself “Heaven,” lay spread out in the ring. Kikuta spat on him: “Pathetic. Shun Skywalker, you’re just another weakling. What’s so heavenly about you? Look at you on the ground while I stand above. Now you understand what I’ve been saying. Hell is right here.”

>Regaining consciousness as spit rained down, Shun grinned wickedly. “More. I like this. I don’t know what you’re trying to do—but spitting on Heaven like that, you’ll get what’s coming to you on August 17 in Ota Ward. Better apologize to the gods while you still can.”

>The showdown looms. Who will be the one to see hell?

>Evolution’s Suwama (48) clashed in a singles match with a female wrestler for the first time, taking another step forward as a veteran.

>In the opening match of the August 6 Shinkiba 1st RING show, part of the “Suwama Challenge” series, Suwama faced Shizuku Yuki (38). Normally, this series sees GM Shuji Ishikawa unilaterally selecting Suwama’s opponents, but this time, it was Suwama himself who made the call. Explaining why he chose Shizuku, he said, “Even though she passed the regular participation audition in April 2024, she’s been pathetic lately and it pissed me off. I was close to thinking she should just quit, so I wanted to see for myself today.”

>The match was entirely one-sided. Suwama landed harsh soccer ball kicks and elbows, and finally locked in a powerful sleeper hold, forcing the referee to stop the match at 8 minutes 23 seconds and declaring Suwama the winner.

>Afterwards, Suwama had stern words for Shizuku, who failed to make a mark during the match: “I’m sorry, but you should go on a journey. See the world and grow as a person. Pro wrestling is ultimately about how sincerely you face it.” He announced he would not consider her for regular participation, adding, “Up until now I couldn’t bring myself to punch a woman in the face, but today I overcame that,” expressing his sense of breakthrough in slightly alarming terms.

>Suwama had said he wants to face all the women on the roster in singles matches going forward, but out of four candidates, only Chika clearly raised her hand in the survey. ChiChi bluntly responded, “Are you stupid? You were the one who said mixed matches were banned,” shutting down the idea.

my theory is that while it is a place for all puro, there aren't that many posters, and:
>The NOAH fans only discuss NOAH
>The AJPW fans only discuss AJPW
>The DG fans only want to discuss DG
>The GLEAT fans only discuss GLEAT
>etc.

Don't want to defend anyone, don't have any horse in this but aside Higuchi's title match and the 3way comedy with the usual people the rest of the cards are new combinations:
>Debut match for Jun Kasai's kid.
>Rukya is back from a long hiatus after a injury.
>Ueno vs MAO but there is breakdancing guy in MAO tag while on Ueno side the is Aoki and Sumi and Sumi rarely tags with Ueno.
>Yoshimura is also back from an injury after years,
>Daichi is a new kid and there is Sakuraba.
>There is Muscle Sakai not Sasadango.
>NJPW vs DDT tag.
>Iino and Naya tag, the challengers are kind of random wish they booked heavyweight from other promos
>To-y got the EXTREME recently and it's his second defense.

90s and 00s NJPW overall. I never could get into the Okada/BC era and all the epics of the 2010s. Not saying we need to go back to 8 minute Tokyo Dome main events, but surely there can be more of a balance.

Love 70s-early 90s AJPW too. I like the Pillars but it's never resonated with me quite as much. Probably because it's the basis for the modern style I don't really like. I rarely feel anything when I see the long match, big move into a kickout formula now.

>GLEAT’s double crown champion, “XX Style” Katsuhiko Nakajima (37), spoke of his enthusiasm for further developing LIDET UWF and rolled up his sleeves for the upcoming G-REX Championship match against El Lindaman (30).

>LIDET UWF World Champion Nakajima faced Lindaman in his fifth title defense at the Shinkiba event on the 9th. The match was filled with tense exchanges from the outset, but in the end, Nakajima staggered Lindaman with a fierce slap, then caught him in a choke sleeper, forcing a tapout to secure the victory.

>Having won decisively with a solid performance, Nakajima said with emphasis, “Starting today, LIDET UWF also launches ‘LIDET UWF Joshi,’ marking a new beginning. As long as I’m the champion, I want to keep expanding this UWF along with its history, so don’t take your eyes off it.”

>With the determination to lead LIDET UWF as champion, he spoke about future defenses: “I think it’d be great to face opponents you don’t usually see, and it’d be nice to have some surprises like that. I don’t know how it’ll turn out. But if I keep fighting and putting the message out there, I believe opponents will inevitably appear right in front of me,” revealing his openness to all challengers.

>Regarding facing Lindaman, who is also his tag team partner, he said with a grin, “I was honestly happy to face him at this timing. By standing across from him, I could feel emotions and thoughts I couldn’t sense when standing beside him.” After the match, Lindaman declared his intention to challenge for the G-REX Championship at the October 9 Korakuen Hall event, to which Nakajima, looking satisfied, replied, “I like that attitude—making a challenge despite losing.”

>Naoya Ogawa (57), the “former Rampaging King” who won a silver medal in judo at the Barcelona Olympics and also thrived as a professional wrestler, updated his YouTube channel “Naoya Ogawa’s Rampaging King Channel” to share footage of his meeting with the mentor of his late rival and close friend, the “Destroyer King” Shinya Hashimoto (passed away at age 40).

>Since Hashimoto’s sudden death in July 2005, Ogawa has made regular visits to the gravesite in Toki City, Gifu, where the Destroyer King rests. He would often attend youth judo tournaments around Gifu, and this time he visited Masatoshi Takatsuka, Hashimoto’s mentor from his judo days.

>Contacting Takatsuka to arrange a gravesite visit for Hashimoto, Ogawa went to Takatsuka Osteopathic Clinic in Toki City. In the video, Ogawa explained, “Takatsuka-sensei was like a parent to the Destroyer King. It was at the judo school run by sensei that the Destroyer King began judo.”

>Takatsuka, who had been a father figure to Hashimoto, shared a surprising story: “When he entered junior high school, he wanted to join the brass band because he thought it was ‘cool.’ But when I heard there was a guy about 170 cm and 70 kg, I told them to ‘bring him here,’ and forced him into the judo club.” However, on his very first day, Hashimoto arrived 30 minutes late—“So, 30 minutes of seiza (kneeling),” said Takatsuka. Ogawa, amused by this mischievous episode so characteristic of Hashimoto, chuckled, “Well, that can’t be helped…”

>According to Takatsuka, “He liked Kenji Sawada and often imitated him.” By his third year of junior high, Hashimoto was 180 cm and 90 kg, and reached the finals of the prefectural tournament in judo. “He had great power. He was no good at ball games at all, but he had talent for martial arts,” said Takatsuka. In his first year at Chukyo Commercial High School (now Chukyo High), Hashimoto’s mother passed away. “He carried his mother to the ambulance himself. It was heartbreaking,” Takatsuka recalled.
Anonymous No.18508175 [Report] >>18508186
>>18508170
>From his third year of junior high, Hashimoto admired the late Antonio Inoki. At home, he installed a sandbag, and his room walls were covered with photos of Inoki and the late Kyokushin Karate founder Masutatsu Oyama. “There wasn’t a single judo photo,” Takatsuka said with a wry smile. In high school, he lost in the Inter-High preliminaries to Hirotaka Okada, who later became a two-division judo world champion and Barcelona Olympics bronze medalist. After the loss, Hashimoto knelt down to apologize to Takatsuka.

>Why? “When he was in his first year of high school, his mother passed away, and with only his grandmother and younger sister at home, he felt he had to protect the household. He quit club activities and was away from judo for about half a year. The school told him they would revoke his special scholarship,” said Takatsuka. He negotiated with the school to bring Hashimoto back to judo. Hashimoto regretted that “blank” period and apologized for it.

>Upon graduating high school, Hashimoto had passed both the pro wrestling entrance process and the Self-Defense Forces exam. “He was really torn. He was dodging recruitment from the Self-Defense Forces, so I told him, ‘If you’re going into pro wrestling, make sure you properly decline the Self-Defense Forces. If you don’t give them a proper answer, you can’t go into pro wrestling either.’” Hashimoto officially declined the Self-Defense Forces and decided to enter pro wrestling.

>When he joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Takatsuka had a new suit made. Before heading to Tokyo, Hashimoto visited Takatsuka’s home. “He stood at the front door and cried and cried. That scene still comes to mind,” Takatsuka recalled.
Anonymous No.18508186 [Report]
>>18508175
>Years later, Hashimoto met his estranged father on a television program. Takatsuka, whom Hashimoto consulted beforehand, encouraged him, saying, “You’ll regret it if you don’t.” But before the reunion, Hashimoto phoned him and said, “My real father is you, sensei.” “That one line really made me happy,” said Takatsuka. Ogawa, deeply moved, said, “That’s wonderful.”

I'm pissed off because I think Wrestle-Universe made changes to their website that is fucking me over. So I watch everything with my Roku, and Wrestle-Universe doesn't have a Roku app. Really annoying, but whatever I can cast it from my phone, right? Well no, because the Wrestle-Universe app only supports Chromecast, which is not supported by either my Roku device or my LG Smart TV.

My workaround has been that if I go to the Wrestle-Universe website on my phone's browser, not the app, I actually can cast it to my TV with Apple AirPlay, and it works. Of course, it doesn't work for the PPVs because those don't work on phone browsers for some stupid reason, but I can use the built in web browser on my smart TV, which is slow as shit, but at least I can eventually navigate to the webpage and start the video.

Well, tonight I wanted to watch something, but now my phone isn't casting the picture. I can get audio from my TV, but not the picture for some reason. So I'll try my TV's web browser, and I can get to the page, but for some reason I can't access the controls for the videos. I can't go forward or back, and I can't make the video play in full screen.

What the fuck am I supposed to do? How many fucking hoops do I need to jump through to watch this shit? If I can't find a solution I'll probably just unsubscribe. They should just make a Roku app.

>At NOAH’s Kawasaki event on the 11th, Go Shiozaki (43) returned to action after being out since January for surgeries on both knees, but was defeated by Haruto Ki (26) and missed out on a spot in the “N-1 VICTORY 2025” singles league, which opens September 8 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

>Shiozaki clashed with Haruto Ki in a singles match for the N-1 berth. Welcomed by a large crowd in Kawasaki, Shiozaki showed movement so sharp it was hard to believe it was his first match back, and the venue was filled with cheers.

>In the closing stretch, Shiozaki exploded with a Gowan Lariat, immediately tore off his elbow pad, and went for a second Gowan Lariat to finish the match. However, Haruto Ki countered with a jumping high kick, turning the tide. Ki then moved behind him, delivered a follow-up German suplex, and pinned him.

>Backstage after the match, on missing out on the N-1 spot, Shiozaki said, “Honestly, N-1 was secondary. First, I wanted to stand on my own feet, wrestle on my own feet, leave the ring on my own feet, and walk back. I did that. Just that alone made my return worthwhile today,” clenching his fist.

>Regarding the condition of his knees, he emphasized, “If I’m not at 100%, I won’t step into the ring, and if I’m not at 100%, I won’t return,” declaring he was fully back. Finally, he added with a smile, “I lost in my return today, but just knowing that Team NOAH and all the fans are behind me is the most encouraging thing for me. I’m truly grateful to everyone who came today,” before leaving the interview area.

>Noah’s “The Real Rebel” OZAWA (28) dismissed the upcoming GHC Heavyweight Championship match—KENTA defending against Naomichi Marufuji (16th, Korakuen Hall)—as “past its expiration date.” He insisted that his send-off match against Oowada-san (25) before Oowada’s overseas expedition is what truly deserves the main event slot. Just what lies behind OZAWA’s storm-like rhetoric?

>The story goes back a year. In January 2024, OZAWA faced Oowada-san and lost. Since then, he has continued to revere him as “a being of otherworldly strength,” and now they fight side by side as members of “TEAM 2000X.” Oowada-san, having become so strong that no opponent remained for him in Japan, decided to head overseas. A send-off match with OZAWA had been set.

>After an 8-man tag match at the Kawasaki event on the 11th (OZAWA, Jack Morris, Daga & Null vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Kenoh, Mohammed Yone & Shuji Kondo), OZAWA spoke to the press: “If Oowada-san goes all out, he’ll break his opponent. That’s why he wrestles in a restrained state,” he said, describing Oowada’s strength. Facing a clash with this superhuman foe, he added, “I want to draw out as much of his limits as possible, but I’m also scared of getting beaten to a pulp again,” answering while his legs trembled slightly.
Anonymous No.18528560 [Report]
>>18528548
>However, on the 16th, despite expectations for a fierce battle, this match is being set aside in favor of making the GHC Heavyweight Championship match the main event. On this, OZAWA remarked, “Twenty years ago it would have been a golden card, but now it’s way past its expiration date. I can’t understand why the match between Oowada-san and OZAWA isn’t the main event.” His reasoning stems from the fact that on July 19 at Korakuen Hall, he lost the GHC title to Kenoh but continues to insist “the referee was bribed.”

>“Kenoh got it through foul play, and then KENTA happened to land a lucky punch on Kenoh to get the belt, so it’s worthless. Some indie belts lying around have more value,” he said freely.

>Regarding a return to the title picture, he bluntly stated, “I have to keep going until I kill all the trash at the top. If the belt happens to be involved in that, it’s only a means to an end.” He also dodged the topic of entering “N-1 VICTORY 2025” (opening September 8 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo), the league that offers the shortest route to the title, saying, “I don’t know if I’ll enter. Depends on my mood.”

>Will we never again see OZAWA with the GHC belt around his waist? His movements bear watching.

there are a lot of great example of men above 50 doing just fine. Harashima, Minoru Suzuki, Dick Dogo etc I can image that certain playstyle might be more taxing that others (to me harashima still doing what he does is a fucking miracle) but even knowing when to take a pause and focus on training and not stressing your body really helps.

WU has so much stuff for the price, with better quality video on NOAH content. DG Live is great, but they have slacked in terms of offering shows. Example: they didn’t film a portion of King of Gate for whatever reason. NJPW World got worse when the made the change last year.

>Tetsuya Naito (43), formerly of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, is fully enjoying his first “summer vacation” in 20 years. Although he and BUSHI had restarted as Los Ingobernables de Japon, their planned matches in Italy and Germany were suddenly canceled. After a turn of events straight out of “Zundoko,” he is now spending tranquil days—literally “tranquilo.” What exactly happened?

>Having left New Japan this past May, Naito appeared with BUSHI for two matches in RPW in the U.K. in July. He then announced plans to work shows in Italy on the 15th (Japan time 16th) and Germany on the 17th (Japan time 18th).

>Yet when contacted, instead of being on his way to Europe, Naito was still in Japan. The emergency interview site wasn’t a family restaurant, but a park in Tokyo. Standing in the park at night, Naito amused himself with sparklers lit from a bucket of water. Two 43-year-old men conversing in this situation were practically suspicious characters.

>What happened? Naito explained: “Originally, after the U.K. there were supposed to be matches in the U.S., but the visa still hasn’t come through. Without the U.S. visa, I couldn’t set a schedule, so I kept putting off my replies to Europe… and I put it off too long. When I finally replied, they said, ‘It’s too late.’ I guess I couldn’t stay tranquilo then. I don’t know when the next one will be, but this time fell through.” It was a case of chasing two rabbits and catching none.
Anonymous No.18564641 [Report] >>18564902 >>18571965
>>18564636
>As for the future, he says he has agreements with several U.S. indie promotions, but everything hinges on the visa, leaving him stuck. “Of course it would’ve been nice if things had gone as scheduled… but maybe this kind of zundoko is something I could only experience now that I’ve left New Japan. It’s frustrating and makes me anxious, but that’s why I want to say that phrase to myself, you know,” he said, planning to go with the flow in his typically laid-back way.

>During his New Japan years, he was always busy with G1 Climax in the summer, so having free time now is a rare experience. “There’s a downside in not being able to make plans, but being able to spend summer vacation like this is something I haven’t done since summer 2005 before joining New Japan. I’m enjoying summer for the first time in 20 years,” he said, savoring his sparklers to the very last one.

>When cleanup was done, Naito returned to a nearby coin parking lot and got into his car. “I don’t have any change right now, could you cover the parking fee? I’ll stop by a convenience store and drop you off at home after,” he kindly offered. But the moment the lock bar dropped after paying, the car took off in a flash, tearing through the night…
