People.com: Hulk Hogan private funeral, cremation
https://people.com/hulk-hogan-funeral-wwe-star-laid-rest-florida-11785027

Hulk Hogan was laid to rest in a private funeral in Clearwater, Fl., on Tuesday, 12 days after he died of a heart attack.

The family and friends of the late WWE superstar came together to celebrate his life on Tuesday, Aug. 5 after his death on July 24. Hogan was 71.

The service took place at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Clearwater, the city where Hulk, born Terry Gene Bollea, had been living with his wife Sky Daily.

Photos from the funeral showed men and women in black suits with orange boutonnieres carrying his casket into the funeral home.

Prior to the funeral, former WWE star Triple H, whose real name is Paul Michael Levesque, was seen disembarking from a private plane alongside Stephanie McMahon, who served as WWE co-CEO until 2023. Singer Kid Rock and comedian Theo Von were also in attendance.

Hogan died of acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, PEOPLE confirmed on Thursday, July 31.

The WWE legend had a history of leukemia, according to medical records obtained by PEOPLE, and atrial fibrillation, a common disorder that causes irregular heart beats. Hogan's history of leukemia, a form of cancer that affects white blood cells, was not previously known.

The records also indicated that Hogan would be cremated.

It is not yet known who of his family attended the funeral. Hogan is survived by his third wife, Daily, who was at home at the time of his death, and his previous two wives — Linda, who filed for divorce in 2009 after 23 years of marriage, and Jennifer McDaniel, whom he was married to for nearly 11 years, until their divorce in 2011.

Hogan and Linda had two children, Nick Hogan, 35, and Brooke Hogan, 37. Three days before the funeral, Nick attended WWE's SummerSlam where the organization honored late father on August 2.

Brooke, meanwhile, has been estranged from Hogan for the last two years, including as she and her husband, former NHL player Steven Oleksy, welcomed twins in January. On July 29, the former reality star, 37, broke her silence about the passing of her late father, sharing to Instagram that “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us.”

"... I know he’s at peace now, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined. He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he’d ever have."

Oleksy told PEOPLE on Friday that he had tried to stay in contact with Hogan and Nick during Brooke's estrangement, in case they wanted to repair the relationship. Oleksy said he reached out to the late WWE star "about a month and a half after" his twins were born to see if he would meet them, but Hogan never did before his death.

"I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest," Oleksy said.

Meanwhile, his daughter Brooke didn't go
According to the New York Post:

Hulk Hogan’s estranged daughter Brooke skipped the WWE icon’s funeral service in Florida on Tuesday and opted to privately celebrate her father’s life at one of his favorite places.

“My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn’t want one,” Hogan wrote on Instagram. “Although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him.”

“I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how… privately… the way that made me feel the closest to him,” she said.

Brooke, who is married to former NHL defenseman Steve Olesky, honored Hogan alongside her infant twins at the beach, the place where she says she felt “the closest to him.”

“The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset,” she captioned the post.

The 37-year-old has been estranged from her father in recent years, but shared photos of her children and husband splashing in the “same salty waters” the wrestling legend loved.

“Daddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul,” she wrote. “Molly loved the water. I think she’ll be a ‘little fish’ as you called me.”

Hulk Hogan was laid to rest in a private funeral attended by grieving relatives and friends at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Fla.

His casket was carried into the service by pallbearers sporting yellow boutonnieres – an apparent nod to the yellow costume he made famous over his decades-long career.

The wrestler, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on July 24 at 71.

He suffered a heart attack at his Clearwater home and was rushed to the hospital but later declared dead.

“We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you,” Brooke wrote. “Rest in heaven, Daddy.”

Hulk Hogan shared two children, Brooke and Nick, with his first wife Linda Hogan.

His daughter has spoken candidly about her father since his death.

In a lengthy Instagram post on July 29, Brooke cleared up “convoluting” media narratives regarding their relationship after they became estranged in September 2023.

“My dad’s blood runs through my veins. His eyes shine through my children. And our blood has never broken, not even in his final moments,” Brooke wrote in the post.

“… We never had a ‘big fight.’ My father and I never ‘fought.’ It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand. My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support,” she said.

Brooke revealed she had moved to Florida with Olesky to be closer to her father when she felt a “force field” blocking her and she decided to step away from the wrestler to “protect my heart.”

The last time she talked to her father was two weeks before her wedding in September 2023, TMZ reported.

At the beginning of the father-daughter rift, Brooke removed herself from his will to avoid conflicts with other family members including her mother and her father’s third wife, Sky Daly.

The wrestling great was honored by WWE during two shows on “SmackDown” and “Monday Night Raw,” the latter attended by his son Nick.

Brooke claimed an invitation was never extended to her by the production company.

“For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, @wwe did not extend an invite,” she wrote on Instagram, after the shows.

Honestly other than Hogan's daughter not being there (and I don't see Nick's name mentioned even though I don't think he had beef with his dad), this was a pretty good turnout for a private funeral service for Hogan
All of the original nWo members besides Hall (deceased) and Fake Sting made it
I can't think of anyone else alive right now in wrestling who I would have expected to be there but apparently wasn't. Maybe Jake and Slaughter, but they both gave social media tributes and likely had other commitments/personal issues where they couldn't make it

Well here's something kinda sad that I went through after reading your post
I tried to think of all the people who I'd immediately expect to be at Hogan's funeral
Most of the ones I thought of are dead, and I immediately realized they were dead as I thought of their names: Savage, Elizabeth, Hall, Heenan, Piper, Ultimate Warrior, Road Warriors, Perfect, Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Howard Finkel, Earthquake, the list goes on
But the fucked up part is there were two who I forgot were dead until I googled: Sid and Vincent/Virgil. And they both just died last year
Not only that, there's one who I just found out for the first time is dead: Butch from the Bushwackers. I thought of both of them, then googled and realized Luke is still alive but not Butch. I thought both were still alive
The old guard in wrestling just keeps fading away

Any notable black wrestler who went to the funeral would have been called all kinds of "coon" and "sellout" non-stop on social media by other black people, and the sjw's would have dogpiled on that
Rodman went because unlike most he just doesn't give a shit and does whatever the fuck he wants

There is a reason of why many wrestlers respects hogan, mainly because he, austin, dusty, flair and vince knows the damn business, none of the retards hos how a work works and always tends to backfire badly and ruin the business in the long run.

you can still have a grave without body, my grandma paid for one for years but then she asked to be cremated on her final days, when she passed we cremated her and buried the casket with some of her clothes.

This really adds up with backstage stuff people said for years, Hogan put down himself so kidman would be over as he was with the crowd at that time, just for the fucking writers and bookers know nothing about it later, mainly when fucking disco inferno became the GM and booker of WCW thanks to russo, and this was after scott steiner left him with a milky butthole

Buff for carrying WCW
Sabu and 2 Cold Scorpio for being pioneers on which people copied their style of wrestling and goes til this day.

I mean Hogan clearly was racist to a point, at least when that recording took place
He directly says that exact thing himself in the leaked audio
The problem is some people don't realize there are layers when it comes to the "badness" of racism
Hogan used known racial slurs in private, didn't want his daughter dating a black guy (unless he was successful), and made fun with his son about the idea of being reincarnated as a black person being a negative thing. All of those things are considered "bad", no doubt
He clearly saw blacks as being generally inferior - which technically wasn't inaccurate, given how some of them are treated in society today based on their race, and especially how much worse they were treated when Hogan was younger and his views on race were forming
In an sjw-run society, such views on race by a white person towards non-whites is considered a despicable sin on the same level as extreme neo-nazi racism, which is why Hogan continues to get backlash even in death
But there's something to be said about the fact that Hogan worked closely with many black wrestlers and other persons throughout his career. He's interacted with black fans. There's no proven record of him intentionally saying or doing anything insulting or disrespectful to anyone in public primarily based on their race. He has never publicly or privately advocated for any extreme racist beliefs (such as wanting to bring back segregation, slavery, wanting to deport all blacks, wishing harm/death on blacks, etc.)
In short, Hogan has pretty much always treated black people with respect despite his internal prejudices. He was racist, but his level of racism wasn't primarily evil and dangerous, just mostly ignorant
And for some people, that's enough to either forgive him for ever having those prejudices or at the very least, not see that part of him as overshadowing the rest of what made him such a legendary human being, flaws and all

I realize Linda's no saint, and she probably did just as much shit as Hogan did over the years including tell lies about him to make him look bad
But it's pretty big of her to come to the funeral just months after Hogan and his new wife mocked her venting about the family drama online
