They need to lose Collision, it's going to reflect poorly and people will mock them for it but one of the big initial appeals of AEW was that it wasn't a job to keep up with it like WWE. Ideally they should so four PPVs a year and do TV specials instead for long term growth too but PPVs do pretty well.

People care about quality. As pointed out in this very thread, WWE went from tarping off arenas to consistent sell-outs, or close to it. And that's because the show got better.
The fact that AEW has done the exact opposite, while the market leader is bringing in more fans to watch wrestling again, should help you realize this.

the main wwe storyline had to be scrapped on the tv show days before summerslam. tna just let wwe book 2 of WWE's developmental wrestlers beat their guys and win their titles. I agree the Cleveland number is dissapointing but aew isn't going to suddenly start doing 700k tv ratings and 5k in the buildings. it's a lot harder to get back viewers and crowds once you've lost them. they were doing 3.1k Q4 2024, that's a realistic number they can aim for, just stop the bleeding. This ECW arena residency was dumb too. Last thing the brand needs is blood and hardcore matches in front of 900 seats. tony needs to get rid of his ecw fixation.

What made him a star in WWE was that they finally got someone after AEW was the place to sign.

For a company that has ties to DDT through guys like Kenny, Ibushi, and Takeshita AEW has never considered doing some of what DDT does. AEW can't surpass WWE and doesn't need to. What it needs is just a mix of solid wrestling stories and some weird shit that can go viral. DDT does shit like wrestle on trains and stuff. When everyone was making the Casa Bonita jokes my thought was that Tony should contact the South Park guys and see if they can book the real Casa Bonita instead for a special show. It won't be a large crowd but it'd be weird and draw a little buzz, especially if you get a good shot of Darby coffin dropping off the cliff.
